We're not talking about the market, the rate of return or even the dollar amount in retirement plans. The 25% drop refers to the value of your portfolio in the current Biden economy. The million dollars you have invested is now only worth $750k because of inflation and higher interest rates. While the money is still there in your account, those last 10 years of your savings effectively disappeared thanks to Biden. People will have to put off retirement to make up for the effective loss.
Worse still, young people in this economy are getting screwed even more than those who have accumulated some savings.
