Jeff Mullins is no OC

1. 49-0 in the 2nd qtr. let's just say 56-0 at the half cause it will be. Wow there are 1-aa schools better than that.
2. As for Mullen, yeah he was and is not an OC.
3. More important than 1 & 2. No point in insulting a dead man.

His playbook was asking the magic 8 ball if the play would work. Bad hire from the start.
Stew should have kept the offense just like Frauds offense. Oregon didn't change when Kelly left and Stew shouldn't have change either. Big Big Big Mistake. 2 Things cost Stew his job (1) Changing the offense and (2) Hiring a Clown who was never ever a OC until he got here.

I was really upset when we ditched the spread option. That's a nice system for us. There's a lot of athletic QB's out there to run it.

If Gibby became HC, do you think he'd bring it back?

You have to understand that Jeff is as good as some schools can afford. In cases like that you just have to run what you brung and move on.

Stewart, just like Dana, started off his coaching career by doing a buddy a solid and WVU paid for it in losses.

Thats on the AD's.

I agree with the premise that Bill and Dana made mistakes by putting their buddies in charge who were not qualified for the roles they were given.
But that's NOT "on the AD's." ADs pretty much let the head coach pick the assistants unless there's a morality problem. All over the country.

But Bill and Dana both let friendships get in the way of putting the best product possible on the field.

Dana was smart enough to realize he f'ed up by hiring Deforest as DC. He demoted him after the 1st yr. Stew wouldn't change Johnson or Mullen when he knew they'd struggle.

Yeah, a 74-year old ex-basketball player does not make a good FB OC.

I have to say, 3 is obvious, but Charlotte is not even old enough to be in kindergarten yet. You couldn't make them competitive with any coach being such a young program. They're also not going to attract a relevant coach to lead them in their infancy. UTSA was lucky they got Larry Coker, but he was also coming off a firing, and wasn't really attractive to other FBS schools. Given >>>Mullen<<< never had any clue what he wanted out of his offense other than a ton of motion and shifting that led to absolutely nothing. Maybe he knew exactly what he wanted to do, but we had the most inept offensive lines in decades thanks to Johnson, so being able to run any play was a crapshoot. Yes it was on Stew. I don't know why we're still talking about it, though. Mullen is at a school we won't be playing anytime soon. Stew is at rest. Let's put those years at rest, too.

Because it set the program back years and certain people want to place Stewart on a undeserved pedestal
