It still seems odd watching The Mountaineers playing against teams like Texas, Oklahoma, Iowa State and KSU.
At first when WVU joined the Big XII I was unsure what to think or how I felt about it. But I've come to really enjoy watching Big XII football.
About Saturday's game against The Longhorns. Sure Texas Football is going through tough times but beating Texas is still a accomplishment to brag about IMO. I guess that's because Texas is like Alabama in regards to pedigree and the history of its football program.
Growing up watching eastern football and The Mountaineers it was a huge change but one I've come to embrace whole heartedly.
Do I miss The Mountaineer games against Cincinati, Pitt, VT or Uconn? No not really but going back a little further when PSU and Miami were on the schedule those were games to look forward too. Even BC was a very solid football team as well as Syracuse. Games were regional and rivalries mattered.
The Big XII is not perfect but that's ok, I'll enjoy this ride awhile.
