Doesn't matter, they don't care to be a place of academia(NEVER have EVER in their history). They have made it expressly clear, 'this is about football wins, meaningless as they are', except when it comes to TheFlagship(we never play them in their "best years" . Funny how a 7 game series works ...seems to happen every year we don't play) They even say, ' who cares? We aren't here to play tiddlywinks when it comes to their acceptance of guys who can't graduate high school and can't get into a real academic environment... we are the undercarriage of sports. Who gives a F what academics mean?'
Answer: You should be an institution of higher learning, with sports as a sideline........ Marshall has twisted it to be a cheating sports program that plays in small-ball world but wants to act like it is a University of higher learning(spoken to many grads who believe that's Moo's greatest downfall and reason for sub-par academic standards....They wish they'd change the attitude and focus more on what it was designed to be), and hang its pea-sized cap on small ball wins in football. Never knowing they are irrelevant... never knowing no one gives a damn, or knows even who or where they are, until someone says, "West Virginia?" and then someone knows... Oh, [WVU]? I know where you are now.......
Challenge: Usurp WVU in anything, ANYTHING... then we'll have a conversation about the "thing" you are better in, otherwise, STFU.... Name ONE........NAME IT! Talk about crickets.............................. There is not one academic, or athletic thing in this world that Marshall can hold a candle to WVU in..
Had a stepson who graduated from Marshall, all my other sons went to WVU(engineers)....He graduated from Marshall and tried to enter the WVU master's program(accepted by Moo's).....nope.... couldn't get in WVU's. Now he's changed majors and is attending WVU Parkersburg, realizing his undergrad was worthless(expensive....."thanks moo football"...but worthless) Now he's in the engineering program at WVU and will eventually have to appear on the Evansdale Campus....God only knows how he got in.....But he's starting over.
Fact: Never have beaten WVU in anything....

Fact: Moo will struggle, as always, as a place of higher learning until they realize their place in this world.. They've sacrificed too much money(tax payer's as well), integrity, and academic pride chasing the WVU's of the world.
Fact: Understand who you are and the apex of where you can be. Live within those margins, and quit whining you can be something you cannot.
My stepson has experienced the above facts.....and is an alum...and totally agrees, begrudgingly ....but agrees
