they go after a stud like DTW, tell him he can come in here and maybe be the biggest baddest runner we've had since Avon Cobourne?
Then the kid gets here, and they make him think he essentially has to "reinvent" himself if he's ever going to see the field? Yet somehow, they manage to keep him (and others...Parker, Rogers just to name a couple) motivated and believing their chance is coming.
I don't pretend to know what buttons they push on a kid, I'm just glad they know how to get the results we need. I believe once DTW and a few others finally get into a game and show what they can do it might be hard to get them off the field! Holgs has been saying some players this year may be the "best he's ever Coached"... think he may be using that little trick to motivate guys like Shorts, Squirt, and Gibson to try and top what Alford and White did for us last year or maybe Steadman Bailey and Tavon before them?
Just wondering.
