Is it true Lamar Jackson wanted to be a Mountaineer?

Again, this topic has been discussed on this board that we had a real shot at Lamar. How would our national brand look now with a kid like that on our team?

I don't know the entire story but yes Lamar had a lot of interest in WVU.

If we did have Lamar Jackson this year then 11 wins no excuse's don't wanna get to greedy but with this schedule can't really see 2 losses with him under center.

What? We beat two teams that are average at best & all of a sudden we should go 11-0 with some kid who chose Lou'ville over us? We couldn't go 11-0 if Aaron Rogers chose us over Geen Bay this year.

Lamar Jackson would make Wvu much better than average. Yeah we have beaten 2 teams that are average at best but that's all where gonna play in the big 12 is teams that are average at best. Texas was supposed to save the conference but Cal just hung 50 on them. San Diego state smoked cal the week before. If Lamar Jackson was playing against big 12 defenses he would easily rush for 100 yards against any team with maybe the exception of K state. He would even have time to rush up the middle to the 1 yard line, stop an order a pizza and have it delivered by the time an average big 12 defense caught up to him.

If Lamar Jackson played for anybody, he would take that team to the next step. I bet FSU wished they had him Saturday.

But it is much easier and more palatable for some to make it appear that Dana is a fool and did not want the kid.
the problem here Dana did not want him as a QB, he still had a running QB in the fold that he was trying to teach his system.

Can you produce documentation of what you state? Dana did not want him as QB? Not the way I recall his recruitment. Or is this just another swipe at Dana by someone creating a news story based on no real facts?

I remember the uproar when Jim Carlen passed on Lamont Sanford. I thought that would never die down. Newspaper headlines across the state read, "Jim, You Big Dummy!"

Carlen said he wasn't going to take Lamont's hoodlum friend, Rollo, as part of a package deal once he got the word on what the two were up to from his west coast recruiting expert, Grady Wilson. "No Rollo, no Lamont!", was the word from Sanford's father, who seemed to want to be rid of them both.

Recruiting is an odd business.

I am not sure the conversation that was had on this board but I can say that the kid 100% was interested in coming to WVU, now what happened I can not say for sure. It sure would be sad if he wanted to come to WVU and was discourage.

guys this issue has been discussed on this board, some conversations between WVU and Lamar did take place.

I believe he did n't want to compete against 2 other QBs. Remember Sills was a big deal when we got him.

IMO, we end up on the wrong end of this for 1 year. Will Greer will be great here.

I've been told by a reliable source that if LJ had come to WVU, he would have suffered a broken leg in our opening game. Take it for what it is worth.

I sure as heck did...the OP? Bonifide?

Heck, the OP ain't no where near bonifide! You know you know that. How is the fall harvest coming along? How is the Paperboy working out? Did he show up for work? I'll bet he didn't because he couldn't find his work boots!

Rumors are that Grady Wilson was trying to get colleges to sweeten the deal and lining his own pockets. Grady Wilson is a wolf in sheep's clothing....

Shhhh! He'll send Bubba over to your house to put the quietus on you. Grady ain't a man to be trifled with. Fred, Esther, and Woody all paid for getting on the wrong side of Shady Grady.

You ever hear of Suge Knight? Learned everything he knows from his Grandpa Grady. Tupac didn't get on the wrong side of Suge, he got on the wrong side of Grady.
