I was glad WVU prevailed but shocked by the high score in that game! I guess no such thing as a bad win but the Mounties were a bit lucky and at the same time a bit unlucky!

It was a crazy game.
Just when we're about to put it away for good Orlovsky doinks a snap off of Howard's leg for a turnover. Then we still get another chance to drive and put it away and White drops one that hit him right in the breadbasket.
Those were the kind of stuff that usually gets you beat...but Mounties to their credit gave up a ton of yardage on two potentially winning BYU drives but found a way to hold!
Yes, that kind of stuff usually gets you beat, absolutely. I still haven't seen exactly what happened on the snap. The center was pissed, so it seemed like it was Howard's fault, but the snap was at his shin anyway and still would have been difficult to handle. So, I don't know.
We put together a 99 yard drive when we needed it, and that was a nice drive too until we got to the 3 and that happened. There was no reason to think we couldn't drive again, but then White dropped a nearly perfect throw on 3rd and 3 that would have been a first down and kept the drive alive and probably would have killed the clock.
I'm very concerned about our defense.
I didn't get to watch that game. I thought you'd have an easier time of it! Still, you're undefeated!
In a way it wasn't really as close as it seems, and then in other ways it was even closer.
It was a really weird game.
14-10, we get a pick 6 to make it 21-10. Before the half they are driving, they are on the 20-25 with 30 some seconds left, they throw a pass out to the flats, instead of getting as many yards as he could and getting out of bounds, the guy cuts it back inside ... no timeouts, no first down so the clock is ticking. They spike it, but the clock is at zero. They review it and determine that there was 1 second left on the clock, so they have time for a FG. 21-13 at the half.
yadda yadda yadda ... we're up 35-19, they score to bring it to 35-26 and go for 2 and don't get it.
We drive down the field, get to the 3, and the center snaps it when Howard wasn't ready, it bounces off his shin straight back to the DL ... BYU ball.
We get an interception and get the ball back, there's under 3 minutes left ... White drops a pass on a stop route in the flat that would have been for a 1st down. We punt.
They start driving, it's 35-32 (don't recall where their other score fell in the middle of all of this), they heave a pass with a minute something left on the clock, the defender on the receiver tips the pass, another intercepts it and we have the ball on the 1 and just have to run the clock out.
So, we are right there, can make it 42-26 with about 4 minutes to go, DOINK!! ball goes right back to BYU ... all they need is a FG to tie, but go for the endzone and it gets intercepted.
So, like I said, in a way it wasn't as close as it seems, but in another it was every bit as close as it seems.
...wouldn't be a mismatch! But straight up on a neutral field I'd have to take the Cougs!
We were up 16 with 9 mins to go and had it in hand. All we had to do was play a little defense and get a few firstdowns. Neither really happened. Total late game fubar.
No, I don't hunt at all anymore. I grew up hunting but interests changed in college.
The name comes from way back ... this board started just as an email group, then when it turned into a board I had to think of a name and tons of people had EER in their name someplace, but I couldn't think of anything good.
I looked out my window and there were 2 deer in the empty lot by my house and the name came to me.
