I'm particularly concerned about the new Covid variant BA.5 and Monkeypox this fall.

I know a lot of people who have been getting it over the past month.

Virtually all very mild and cold/flu like……even among people I would have been very worried about in 2020.

Heck my 60 year old relative who’s a lifelong smoker and has had several pneumonia before had a totally 100% asymptomatic case recently, caught on random screening.
Dr. Fauci says:

"The thing about BA.5 that is disconcerting is that it is able to escape some of the immune protection that you get from prior infection as well as vaccination," Fauci told ABC News. “It has a transmission advantage over the prior variants, which is the reason why we're seeing an uptick in cases and in some areas even an increase in hospitalization.”

I know he has our best interests at heart and am wondering if anyone else is going to wear a few masks or self-isolate to be safe?

It takes all of us, and if we can save just one life, it's worth it.

Vaccines clearly aren't effective anymore and Dr. Fauci says so.

I think we should cancel football season.

In the famous words from Donald Southern “Animal House”, “Hey I am not kidding, this is my job”!! 😉

the thing..people are quitting jobs because they actually have to come to work in person, instead of working at home in their underwear and taking a nap when they want to..wahhh ..soft ass country
It is true but we are finally starting to get people who want to work so it is getting better.

And Paxlovid exists now, too.

It's not even remotely as bad as it was March 20. The Omicron subvariants are still pretty bad, but not cose to the Alpha and Delta strains. Those were horror shows.
My dad tested positive last weekend and his doc gave him paxlovid. He broke out in rash immediately and had to stop taking it.
hes 72 and has black lung and uses inhalers, he was pretty sick for couple days (sat and sun) but feels better now. Still tested positive yesterday

Had BA.5 when I was in the UK a couple of weeks ago. I’m 54 and in good health. It was an easy cold. Colds tend to last for awhile. I was recovered in 30 hours or so. Just trying to stay relevant I guess.

Get back to be after the Pitt and VT game and I might agree with that canceling the season idea....

Had it. Lost taste for about 8 hours. Coughed a little. Was tired for 3 days.

Definitely cause for mail in voting.

I had COVID 2 weeks ago (2nd time), and I've had 4 vaccinations (Pfizer). Had fever, runny nose, congestion, cough and extremely fatigued for about 2 1/2 days. Had it the 1st time also prior to there being a vaccine.

I mostly slept, and felt very weak. Once my fever broke after 3 days. I was fine. I am in good health, and stay very active normally. This is a tricky virus. Some have no symptoms at all. Had a cousin in his 50s that died from it last December.

But I still live my life. Once over COVID, I live as normally as possible. Eventually, something's going to get us all. I don't judge those who are more cautious than me, and I don't judge those who are less cautious.
It is tricky. I’m no expert, but we still must be learning about it. What is weird to me is how it affects people so differently. I had it prior to the vaccine. I was tired for a few days. I’m 56. Others not as lucky. I decided not to get vaccinated. I know I’ve been in contact with others who had it since on multiple occasions. I’m either lucky or my immunity is good for now.

Viruses that cause the common cold...

We've had great success curing the common cold... not. We are going to be about as successful curing (or even modifying) CV-19. We are going to have to learn to live with it. It's not going away. And while the N-95 masks may be about 50% effective, the surgical masks are really designed to keep the surgeon from sweating into the patient during their case. They aren't engineered to stop small viruses from passing through the mask. Time to move on to the next problem.
I’d moved on in June of 2020. As soon as they were saying it was ok to “peacefully protest” during the height of the pandemic, I knew it was mostly bullshit. Once the stats started being shown if it being basically safe if you were under 60 and in decent shape, confirmed it was more about fear than danger. I choose not to traffic in fear.

Yea, I caught BA.5 when I was there. We went to a wedding in Scotland and everyone there caught it.

Let's all give Kenneth Copeland a call and get him on this immediately.

I’d wager to say I’ve had COVID probably 3-4 times now. I have no idea for sure, I don’t test for it when I get sick, I don’t stay home, I don’t mask, and I don’t vaccinate.

I take some Aleve D and press on like a fvcking man.
Our immune systems are better at tracking these variants and adjusting to their myriad configurations better than any so called "vaccine" out there. You just need to keep it (immune system) well armed with the proper vitamins and minerals, eat a healthy well balanced diet, and moderately exercise daily to help it do it's job and it works to damn near 100% perfection...especially if you are exposed to one of the viruses.

The fear mongers and fear porn peddlers don't want you relying on your own God given immune system to fight these viruses because they think they are God...or at least they're trying to be.

They can't copy the Creator, and the natural immune system he gave each and every one of us works every time it's tested as long as we don't hamper its ability to do so with poor diets, drugs, and other poisons like Nicotine or these stupid vaccines.

This variant will peak right at the midterm elections. There will be major mail-in ballots.

Of course they won't be counted until last....If needed.
