Don't fault ECU because they know how to successfully negotiate with other programs in terms of scheduling. Marshall's people could learn from them.

You're trying to make it sound like we knew ECU would be down this year and scheduled them in a hurry because of it. Just FYI - Schedules are made years in advance. We have been playing ECU off and on since 1970 and have played at their place several times, it's nothing new.
DId you know Delaware State has only won a handful of games in the last five years? I suspect you did!
Did you know when the NCAA expanded the season to 12 games the underlying intent was to give programs like Delaware State a cash game to help them with their athletic budgets ? They come in, take their butt whipping, and go home with a big fat paycheck. Sort of like the big boys treat Marshall.
Did you know that quite possibly Delaware State and ECU aren't the worse teams on your sorry schedule? Kansas and Baylor take a back seat to no one in that category! Hahahah...Jayhawks lose to CMU by 2 TD's in Lawrence!
As a Marshall fan you shouldn't be critical of anyone else's schedule. Your SOS traditionally ranks below 100 and there are only 130 FBS teams. In fact, your current SOS is 122.......

Playing ECU, Delaware State and Kansas in three consecutive weeks would strike fear in Herd fans as it would any college football observer! I just pray the Mounties won't worn down by that stiff test!

Imagine the fear in the Herd fans hearts if they looked at their schedule and saw that they still had #2 / #3 Oklahoma, #8 / #9 Oklahoma State, #18 Kansas State, and #20 TCU in upcoming weeks like we do.
Are we afraid ? No, we play that caliber of teams every year.

Well, Tony, now you know how voting writers/coaches viewed it when we played Marshall.....The Huggs Doctrine is also the Shane Lyons Doctrine. Every P5 team plays a patsy.... Ours used to be you guys, because we were forced to do so. We'll still play a patsy just because the conference slate is generally fairly brutal enough for recognition. And, if we're going to play a patsy, we'll play one for recruiting exposure, a favor to a player(basketball), or one that isn't an a-hole toward us. You guys check off none of those boxes. We'll also play those patsies who don't have unreasonable, and undeserved, demands. Face, it..... We don't play Marshall because of the Marshall fans, coaches, and administration, simply being jerks.
A lot of truth in that. I can't think of a single program anywhere that has tried to pull such amateurish tactics as Marshall admins have done in the past in regards to scheduling. And to this day their fans still behave in the same manner, as evidenced on this board.
Couch, WVU doesn't play " a" patsy in 2017, you boys play five of the them by my count! ECU ,Delaware State, Kansas, Baylor and ISU. You must realize that bunch can't get out of their own way!

That's a tough call since I haven't seen either of them play this year. One thing for certain if either of them were playing Marshall I'd take the Big XII team but Marshall only plays one P-5 team a year so..........

Ah, the once proud Herdiots have gone from telling us to bring our dog if we're afraid while parading around in chicken suits to now grovelling, whimpering and whining because their amateurish PR stunts backfired on them. Kind of sad when you think about it.
While all that was going on the ECU admins acted professionally and successfully negotiated a home and home with WVU. Marshall should go to a seminar at ECU and learn some diplomatic skills in regards to scheduling matters.
