I think this is the problem with Dana. He thinks as long as he wins 7 games he'll keep his job, and he thought his best shot at winning seven games this year was with Skyler Howard at quarterback. However, if he thought he was going to have two or three more years to develop our talent, I think he starts one of our other three quarterbacks in which this year can be a developmental year.
So, if he keeps his job another year unfortunately he'll feel like he's on the hot seat again to have to win 7-8 games, but he knows we are not going to win nine games with skyler. he's going to have to take one year where we go six and six developing the quarterback of the future. He's in a tough spot but only because he didn't recruit a solid qb in his first 3 years at the helm. It's his own fault.
In hindsight, we should have fired him last year, eaten the buyout, and brought in a coach who could develop one of our three guys this year. As it stands, we are stuck in perpetual band-aid mode.
