Such negativity and consistent with your "world" view of what's happened so far this year. This is a team sport and not a "me, me" sport. The balls have been distributed pretty well in my estimation and you are picking on a situation that fits your agenda. We've played 4 of the top teams in all of CFB and lost, unfortunately. Ball distribution is a function of who is catching them, who is open, who can get YAC's, QB pressure and numerous other on-field dynamics that you have no idea of. Why don't you just STFU?!

I was wondering myself why I wasn't seeing Jordan more prominently on the field. Does anybody know if he is injured or in the doghouse?

I think very little of your estimation.

Let me spell it out clearly for you .... a better developed and consistent intermediate passing game would do wonders for this whole team.

Numerous times I have heard someone covering one of our games say, after an incomplete downfield pass, that so ad so was wide open on an intermediate route. So the next time you feel the compulsion to tell someone to STFU I think you wold do well to be looking in the mirror.

If I was busting my butt and regularly getting open on the intermediate routes while the ball is falling incomplete down the field I would be having second thoughts about what I was doing.

Well, if you want to be negative and nasty about WVU, then why not count and list the number of dropped passes by each player. The TCU game had way too many of those. That can not be blamed on Skyler Howard, not when the ball hits the receivers in the hands or chest. Passer and receiver need to get on the same page, and fast, to salvage the season for WVU.

Everyone understands that going 0 for October against Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Baylor and TCU is something that many teams across the country might do if faced with that schedule, but no one will be understanding if WVU doesn't go 3-2 or 4-1 against Texas Tech, Texas, Kanasas, Iowa State and Kansas State, which has a combined record of 16-26 for the season and 3-14 in the Big 12. That's 5 teams with 3 Big 12 victories, including Kansas State and Kansas (and, to be fair, WVU) with NO Big 12 wins.

If you can't win against that collection of bottom-half Big 12 teams, then the Big 12 excuse of being in the Big 12 goes out the window. As Nike says: Just do it!

O utstanding defense obliterated Liberty, 41-17

I am really bad about watching the ball only during a game. I would LOVE to see film on all those deep passes. Is there no one open on intermediates, Is Howard checking through all his receivers? Is Dana calling all those deep balls or are these Howards reads? Our intermediate passing game, slants, short passes over the middle is almost non existant.

I've seen our backup qb open in the flat more times than not...

Could you delete the sig that takes up half a page? It is annoying trying to read a thread you post in.

Glad that we won and glad that we hit some intermediate routes.

But interestingly the guys calling the game (after their pregame prep which includes talking to our coaches) at the beginning of the game talked about our need to hit the intermediate routes.

Couple of slants, very few long balls today. Complemented the run nicely.

Ka'raun white looks like best wr now.
Love to see him get more reps.
Just like his bro

I also thought it was interesting that they were commenting in the 4th quarter, when we all thought we should be doing nothing but running the ball, that we were more or less practicing some intermediate routes. Dana's comments after the game pretty much echoed that sentiment.

I'm with WV You ... it was nice to see the intermediate routes with the run game. But I'm hoping we see some games coming down the stretch where in addition to intermediate passing and running we see the occasional well thrown long ball actually caught.

We may fool around and blow out a couple of teams. I would love to see it happen to Texas.

It's people with attitudes like the one you avow that sows discontent and uproar within any organization expected to pull together as a team. I saw Thompson have, at least, two very nice catches today. He seems to understand the 'team concept' and what it takes to be and win as a team. Too bad fans cannot have similar understanding of 'what it takes' from the standpoint of support and encouragement across the board. However I am realistic enough that there are those among us who consider self and ME far superior to any other social aspect. My major prayer is that you represent a minority so small as to not even having a number associated with those claiming to be of like ind and, thus, a follower.

Skyler can't even see Jordan on the middle routes. He has to roll out of the pocket to find one of the two mentioned WR and then he throws it 5 feet behind them. 5'11 QB throwing to a 5' and some change WR over top of 6'5 giants. News flash, ain't gonna happen

Many times there are open receivers in the intermediate route lanes. I do not think Skyler is tall enough to see them.

There was a camera shot during the TCU game that really showed this. It was from behind our offense when the lineman were standing up.

I don't know exactly how tall Howard is, but it was obvious that all the linemen were a lot taller than him and there is no way he could see a middle route over them. It would have to be through a gap.

OK chief. Whatever you say. I guess I was imagining the TV guys talking about our lack of an intermediate passing game.

The problem of our intermediate passing game is an open secret. But if it makes you feel like a superior fan to feed me your sanctimonious BS then by all means keep patting yourself on the back.

And since you are obviously concerned with the corporate well being of people in communities and organizations maybe you can fill us in on what you are doing to combat widespread drug abuse and the high rate of overdoses in WV. I know those, and other things, aren't nearly as important as football. But since you are in the business of addressing community welfare you might as well address some of the more insignificant problems in West Virginia.
