Ian Eagle remembers calling the 2005 WVU-Wake Forest NCAA Tourney game

It's criminal how D'or gets overlooked in this game. The reason WVU went from down double digits to back in it was because D'or took over for Pittsnogle and actually played good D against the WF big guy, Williams if I recall the name correctly. That also clogged up driving lanes for Paul. D'or fouled out of this game as well down the stretch which is when Pittsnogle came back in. So even though Pittsnogle made some clutch shots to close out the 2nd OT, WVU likely loses convincingly in regulation without D'or.

Mike F'n Gansey. That's all you need to know.
Gansey was the MVP of that game for sure, but the praise of Pittsnogle at the end by this guy is ill founded. Sure Kevin was a great player and a big part of the team's overall success. But in this game Pittsnogle was not a factor at all until the second OT when he did hit his only two 3 pointers of the game.

D'or: 25 minutes. 6-8 FG. 15 points. 3-3 free throws. 0-0 3pt. 10 rebounds. 1 assist. 3 blocks.

Pittsnogle; 25 minutes. 3-7 FG. 8 points. 0-0 free throws. 2-4 3pt. 4 rebounds. 2 assist. 1 blocks.

Side note while digging through box scores. WVU vs WF and WVU vs Louisville are mirror image point totals in regulation for that tournament. 40-27 first half and 37-50 second half with WVU being on the long and short end in each. In both games the team with the stronger second half won. Also Pittsnogle was leading scorer and D'or was a non factor vs Louisville.

WVU 111 Wake Forest 105

That's all.

According to you perhaps. But the OP is a video about the announcer giving accolades to players in a game he called. Accolades he gives to Pittsnogle who was not only outshined by Gansey, Sally, and Herber in this game, but also his back-up D'or. Pittsnogle likely wouldn't have even been in the game if D'or hadn't fouled out.

That would be the writers opinion. I only care about final score.
