Sure, everyone thought he was The Man as far as being a great QB goes. But was he respected and popular? I don't know the deal when he was at WVU. But he just didn't seem to be gelling on the sideline as much with teammates like others do. There was perhaps mention of a riff between him and another good player for us over a girl. (it happens). Something about $50 autographs or selfies when back in Mo'town. Horns down at TX. But he ever got in trouble with the law, had no classroom issues, and never heard anything about him treating a teammate wrong. But either the incident is one of the most extremely isolated incidents in football with a scrub decking the starting QB, or he has a personality problem. What's also interesting is he never lobbied for the Jets to acquire Sted or Tavon.
