First, let me say that the people of Fort Worth have been absolutely amazing to us, both on the streets and during the game. Everywhere we went people were asking if we needed help finding anything or just trying to make us feel welcome. By far, this is the best road trip in that respect.

The game atmosphere was not what we are used to at WVU. It was relatively quiet the entire game and there were a lot of empty seats. I know it was a Thursday game but they are #3 in the country and big games would be much loader and significant in Morgantown. But again, the fans were wonderful to us. It is a very nice stadium.

WVU was very well represented, as there was a lot of gold and blue in the stadium. The team had every reason to be motivated, but just weren't.

As for the game, for the most part, our team was unprepared and extremely undisciplined. I know the officiating was not great but regardless, our team was not ready to play. Anyone who watched the game knows that officiating did not determine the outcome of the game.

It is time that even the most loyal of Holgorsen supporters acknowledge the obvious. He is just not a good fit for WVU. It is time to make a change. You can say that supporting Holgorsen is supporting our team, but at this point, it just is not. There are several good candidates out there, albeit, a lot of good jobs as well.

Does anyone know the rules if any when a college football team travels?

What I mean is when a team is allowed to travel and how long they can be gone?

I travel from West Virginia to Arizona and from West Virginia to Houston quite a bit and I could not imagine trying to play a football game the day after making those trips.

I'm starting to wonder if the day before travel is having an effect on the team.

Yea... ...suddenly travel, however slight and most likely shorter than 'back in the day' is making teams suck.

Have you ever flown charter? 75% less real time.

you might want to wait and see how the team finishes lol. If they win out, they finish 8-4 in a legit power conference. No way should he be fired. It's not like Wvu was #8 ranked with pat white and Noel Devine losing to ECU and Colorado. He's losing to legit top ranked teams.

So that is what we play for now...a coach in his fifth season as HC playing to beat the bottom half of the conference to place somewhere in the middle of the conference standings? If we cannot expect to win even one of the games against the top 4 in the conference, regardless of what conference we are in, we have lowered our expectations tremendously. As for your backhanded slap at our deceased ex-head coach, he did recruit the last great collection of talent, which also has our last great bowl moment. A little respect would be nice.

Good post Tru...glad the locals were very accepting...not so happy the team wasn't up to the task with so many Gold and Blue there...yes it is time to make a change Imo, and hopefully it is a positive one...

the last great collection of talent? How about a little respect for Charles Simms, Kevin White, Mario Alford, Karl Joseph, and others? It isn't that we expect less by recruiting to beat the lower echelon of the big 12. It's that we give it time to build up to compete with everyone in the big 12 and aim for a big 12 title. Your boy Stewart set the program back several years. We are just now built up close to 85 scholarship players. However, we are very young and inexperienced in several areas. Last year during a game, the announcer showed Wvu as one of the 4 youngest p5 programs in the country. Which tells us; stew did have us down nearly 25-30 scholarship players. If we had not dropped 3-4 easy TD passes last night we may have won. We made mistakes to win against Oklahoma state. That shows us we are close. We are good. We are just young, inexperienced. However we have talent. We need a qb. Hopefully crest Howard or chugs emerge to truly take the job. So far it appears open.

Holgorson has had five years to build the program his recruiting classes haven't differed much from the rest of the big 12 only Texas and Oklahoma have consistently out recruited us. TCU has adjusted to Big 12 play and came from the mountain west. There recruiting classes have been very similar to wvu's just look at the rivals ratings over the last 4 - 5 years. How many years is it gonna take? When are we gonna recruit a division 1 QB? When are we gonna stop throwing the ball 50 yards down the field every time we have a 3rd and 1

The conference teams that WVU has played so far are 28-1. Is there really a better candidate out there who would have a better record than 3-4 with our schedule or is that just wishful thinking. I still feel that WVU gets to a bowl game this year and with a win will be poised for even a better season next year. We have always had a few defeatist in our fan base, and that isn't going to change regardless of who is coaching.

Wvu would have a better record with better head coaching. We haven't made any progress from year 4-5. outside of Oklahoma's win against Tennessee none of these teams have beaten anybody
