before making a decision on keeping or firing DH, but, when you high-five an opposing player - it's time to go. It really is. You don't do that to your team on national TV.

I didn't see anything wrong with that........it's called good sportsmanship, and understanding this is just a game!
I think Dana understood what he had this year........a good defense until we lost our best player, and a very young offense. I think his plan, or hope was our defense would keep us in games. But losing Karl hurt and we haven't been the same team since. We will be fine, and Dana will be fine as our head coach. People just need to relax. I was the same way about wanting a change butwhen you sit back and look at all the facts it tells a different story.

BINGO! And for those who didn't see anything wrong with it, how would you have felt if Rich Rod high-fived one of Pitt's players in 2007? Fact is if you don't see a problem with this then you have no competitive nature in you. You save the high fives and compliments for AFTER the game when you do the post-game HANDSHAKES!!!!!!!

Get this BUM OUT OF MY TOWN!

A young offense? Are you kidding yourself? Howard is a JUNIOR. Smallwood is a JUNIOR. Our OL are JUNIORS or SENIORS! Gibson is a REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE. Where is this "youth" you are talking about? They have been in his system the entire time.

Exactly correct!

Dana has proven he can win with good players.......we need a QB and our receivers are young....that's what makes his offense work, and this year we don't have it.

I would have been fine with it......it's just a game guys......

Then you don't get it. Sorry. That's not intended to be a slap at you or your opinion. Just stating that my experience in athletics, which is extensive upon my retirement, you save those type of gratitude acknowledgements for after the game. During the game, you are competing and the other team is the enemy. This is what's wrong with our youth of today. They are being raised to think that competition is "bad". That trying to destroy your enemy is "bad". That everyone "deserves" to play. That everyone "deserves" acknowledgement. That everyone "deserves" a trophy. That's not how it works out there in the real world. As much as I despise people like Donald Trump, people like that understand this. That's why they were successful. And that's why Holgorsen is not. He's a crybaby and a quitter.

So ... using your "logic" Dana would have set a good example if he would have slugged Boykin when Boykin offered the high five?

I really want to know how a coach making a positive gesture toward a player who just made a great play on the opposite team translates into 1) everyone gets to play, and that 2) competition is bad.

So give it to us. Explain how each of them flow from that action. Or ... you could just admit that you are ticked off we lost and you looking for things to mad about and that you are going to great lengths to manufacture and exaggerate resentment.

It's as simple as this.....

The "great" coaches, do you see them do that? How many pats on the helmet has Belichek given Manning during the game? Or Spurrier do it to Manning in college to acknowledge a "great" play? I assume you never played sports, or if you did you would understand. If you did play, and this is your belief, then you were OK with such things as laziness and the belief that "ahh, it's no big deal if we win or lose".

So ... as I suspected .... you have no real argument.

You have in no way whatsoever established how a positive gesture leads to 1) Everyone gets to play. And 2) Competition is bad.

And since you have no argument you imagine characters flaws on my part and then attack me.

For the record; Competition is a good thing and not everyone should play.

Now I have compounded your perplexity because I need you to explain to me how how I can hold those two things as being true while not being upset with Holgorsen over a high five.

Or ... you can just recognize that you are being irrational.

I'm sure you'll call me a quitter if I were to no longer respond to you. And I am sure that if I no longer respond to you, you will think you have won the argument. I get it.

Dana is not going anywhere, and our AD is smart enough to know now is not the time for change. For one who do we get to replace Dana? You think things are bad now try starting all over again from ground zero! With a coaching move you probably got 2 to 3 years of crap. Dana just needs a QB, and his receivers to get game exp....we will be fine.

I am smart enough to realize things you are not. I have been around football for over 20 some years as a player, coach and a parent. I was even luck enough to coach Mr Jarrod Harper in Jr. League for 3 years.
Dana and his staff are good recruiters. He knows football and the kids like him. He knew this year was going to be exactly what we are seeing on offense.

Oh wow I am impressed. I have been around it 30 years. I have had family who were all americans. I can only imagine the kind of coach you were. Not a good one. You should quit posting. All losing breeds is more losing. Great recruiter? LOL.

Point is you don't do that DURING the game and you certainly don't smile while doing it. You save it for post game

I'm anxious to see how we do against teams more of our caliber starting next week. Point being TCU, Oklahoma, and Baylor are just flat out on a different level than us this year. We will see how good of a coach Patterson is next year without Boykin

THIS is how a coach should treat an opposing player during the game. It breeds competition and somehow it mystically does not allow everyone to play.

Non-Issue. Keep it to "His offense and defense sucks".

Teams more of our caliber...wow....that says it all. Some are so in love with DH that they are now content as long as we are competitive with the bottom half of the league. I know I know....we are just WV.....we shouldn't expect to do better.....if we removed Dana the next coach would be way worse. He's the best we can do.

You obviously haven't been watching college football for the past decade. The guy is as good a coach as anybody in America. He only stays in Fort Worth for one reason.. he loves it there...despite who knows how many millions have been thrown at his feet.....He's taken them from an ordinary CUSA team to a powerhouse, despite not exactly having the biggest stadium and about the fifth largest fan base in his own state. He doesn't necessarily even outrecruit teams. But he puts the guys he has in the best chance to win. And they do.

Patterson has led the TCU Horned Frogs to six conference championships—the Conference USA title in 2002, four Mountain West Conference titles, and Big 12 Conference co-championship in 2014—and eight bowl game wins including a victory in the 2011 Rose Bowl. His 2010 squad finished the season undefeated at 13–0 after a 21-19 Rose Bowl victory over the Wisconsin Badgers on New Year's Day 2011, and ranked second in the final tallying of both major polls.

I would have been fine with it......it's just a game guys......

If only we had someone on staff who's job it was to recruit and develop a decent QB.

Every coach is great when you have Heisman caliber players on your team. Not saying he isn't a good coach, but TCU will def not be the same team next year with Boykin. College football is 90% recruiting...10% coaching and stability

I have no Dog in the fight argument on Patterson. But Patterson is a good to great coach with or without Boykin.
