I told my buddies througout the season that ticky tack officiating was gonna hurt the Big 12 teams at the end of the day.....The reason the Old Big East was so good was that teams were ready to play physical tourney BBall...Hopefully, Huggs turns the horses loose today....

The Big East typically underwhelmed in the tournament, I think your premise is off. IMO these guys are getting caught up in the moment. They play all year with this tournament being the end gain, and once they get here both teams have built the thing up so much in their minds they play with anxiety down the stretch.
Think about it, 30+ games all come down to this one event that has a Super Bowl - like audience opposed to the rest of their season where most of these teams were playing in front of minimal TV audiences at best and half full arenas nowhere near as nice as the ones being played in for the tournament. Some teams are rising to the occassion, others are letting it get to them. Hopefully we rise today.
