I see Ryan Switzer knows how to catch a pass.

Yep gave him an offer and he didn't take it but that's WVU's fault.

Maybe by declining our offer Switzer is smarter than we give him credit for? 3 dropped passes for possible TD's and now a dropped interception. Dana did a great job preparing these young guys for tonight's game.

1 slot could not help that much. the last of stew's guys will be gone after this year. we need a total rebuild

The sad part is I think we have a lot of talented players on this team but our coaching is bad.

Absolutely not what happened. Kid grew up wanting to play for WVU. Holgs told him he didn't think he was D1 material at their first meeting. It was over at that point. He has used it as motivation ever since.

Dana told him he wasn't D1 and then offered him a scholarship? You people crack me up with the silliness you believe.

Let me make this very simple for you and those that struggle with that situation. He was recruited by WVU early in his high school career, offered a year before signing day and still chose not to go to WVU. Now any you that can twist that into him "wanting to go to WVU", you're showing your extreme bias.

I hate to admit this but perhaps Switzer said no thanks because of Dana.

You have absolutely zero chance at being successful at WVU if you cannot consistently get the best talent in West Virginia.

WVU did NOT offer him a year before signing day. They came back in at the last minute. From the Charleston Gazette/Mitch Vingle interview with Ryan during his FR season:

During those final two years, Switzer received offers from many schools, including Florida State, Penn State and, late, WVU. Although he grew up a Mountaineer fan, Switzer chose the Tar Heels.

"There's not really much to say [about choosing UNC over WVU]," Switzer said. "[WVU] went in a different direction. They offered a scholarship, but I didn't feel sincerity. But that's OK. It's all for the best."

Switzer said in light of WVU's football woes this season, he's received "a lot" of feedback from Mountaineer fans wishing he were in Morgantown.

"I'm sure, though, they're happy with the recruits they got," Switzer said. "I'm just happy for the love of fans that don't care where state kids go."

now Vernon is silent.

now Vernon is silent.
Yeah because my focus tonight is on some kid that had an offer to play at WVU but decided not to. But since you feel the need to embarrass yourself here you go...

You may want to pay attention to the date on that article, that's a year before he signed with UNC. Wait, you were wrong? No!!

Yep. It will all come out. But the Gazette article was undisputed, as was the fact that he grew up wanting to play for wvu. The party line doesn't even make sense.

I don't put much stock in recruiting hits & misses but arguing with Vernon or Cummings about articles written and published on their own site is pretty dumb.

Actually here is what went down.

Ryan Switzer has an evil twin that none of you know about. His twin has captured Ryan and kept him tied up in a hollow somewhere in southern WV. His conspirators feed Ryan moonshine and bad methamphetamine in order to destroy his brain.

Meanwhile Ryan's twin .... I don't even know his real name .... has assumed Ryan's identity with the goal of destroying Ryan's identity. Among the nefarious things he has done is accept a scholarship to UNC in Ryan's name.

It will all come out later. I know this is all true because it is what I have imagined must be the case. Therefore it is settled in my mind.

Now you really know.

Oh ... wait ... no.... the real Ryan Switzer was abducted by Space Aliens. They're starting their campaign to destabilize all of humanity by first bringing controversy to WVU football fans.

The truth is out there somewhere and it's gotta be the worst that we can imagine it to be.

Undisputed? Good lord can you not read? I just proved to you that he was offered a year in advance. We covered his various visits to WVU, the visits from WVU coaches to his games/home and more but you're going ignore that because it doesn't fit well with your agenda. The facts are right in front of you. But who really cares anyway. He was a very good high school player but not a five star can't-miss type of recruit. WVU offered and pursued him but he conveniently chose to go elsewhere. He's been a good kick returner for UNC at times and a very average receiver. Why is this such a big deal to some of you? Oh I forgot, it's the agenda.

So he catches a pass once in awhile, big deal. I could care less about Switzer.
