Even though you beat our ass, most of the time, it was a game of look forward to, to see how far we’d come. Though it wasn’t very far most games.

The 2006 game was one of the greatest of all time. Hope you bring Rich Rod back and y’all get things turned around.

4-5 Big 10 record.

4-8 (1-4) Howard - W
4-8 (3-5) Akron - W
6-6 (4-4) Va. Tech - W (They would struggle against Akron)
6-6 (4-5) Washington - W
6-6 (3-6) Nebraska - L
5-7 (3-6) Wisconsin - L
5-7 (3-6) UCLA - L
6-6 (4-5) USC - L
7-5 (5-4) Minnesota - W
4-8 (1-8) Maryland - W
9-3 (6-3) Illinois - L
5-7 (3-6) Michigan State - W

Massive power schedule.

Rate Bowl vs 8-4 (5-4) Kansas State

Rutgers was always my favorite team in big east other than WVU of course

They went 0-9 in conference play 3 of 4 years prior to Schiano. From that to back to back bowls is a solid turnaround. Schiano’s ceiling is just so low though, the guy just struggles so bad on the offensive side of the ball, a scrappy 7-5 team will probably be the best years they get unless they catch lightning in a bottle like 06 along with a favorable draw on their conference schedule that year. Given Schiano is the only coach to truly sustain anything positive there, they should give him a lifetime contract and never let him leave again.

Schiano is one of the few returning to the school he had success with a mostly positive 2nd go.

College football with regional rivalries is gone. Christ, I had so many Jersey friends when I was in school.
