I think that is true but this professional football played on Saturday's is hard to gauge. I somewhat take OSU's National Championship season as a victory for Capitalism more that victory for the Buckeye's of their conference. That's a good thing as far as I'm concerned.
I agree, Tony. NCAA Football will never be the same.I think that is true but this professional football played on Saturday's is hard to gauge. I somewhat take OSU's National Championship season as a victory for Capitalism more that victory for the Buckeye's of their conference.
Really tough on MU and all mid majors, we really nothing more than farm teams at this point! WVU in a bad spot as well IMHO, takes big money to be a serious contender for anything of note.I agree, Tony. NCAA Football will never be the same.
You're buying into the talking-head narrative a little too much, Tony. Although it benefited from the transfer portal somewhat--as every other Power 4 school did, too--Ohio State benefited more from most of its starters deciding to return for their fourth season or more of football in Columbus to try to win a championship, as they had failed to do so before. The Buckeyes' starting front seven on defense, most accomplished running back and receiver, and starting guards and tackles all could have entered the NFL Draft but decided to return to school instead. Next year will be a major challenge, as these returnees are headed to the NFL now.I think that is true but this professional football played on Saturday's is hard to gauge. I'm not knocking the Bucks, KIng! They "played " within the current rules of a questionable system and clearly to my eyes were the best team in "college" football, notwithstanding a hiccup along the way. My beef is not with OSU but with the system we all now find ourselves under. You're buying into the talking-head narrative a little too much, Tony. I would feel worse for them if their hefty checks didn't clear the Bank! They got got the loot and the rings! But the Wolves are one of the few outfits in college football that has the financial resources to go toe to toe with OSU.I kind of feel bad for the ohio state football squad, knowing not a single player has ever beaten the Michigan Wolverines.
I kind of feel bad for you, knowing that you're too ignorant to understand that winning a national title is far more important than any regular season game. I feel even worse for the Skunk Weasels who lost SEVEN consecutive games to the Great Urban Meyer, then followed that up with a loss to Ryan Day's first team. Congrats on finally cheating your way to something noteworthy after decades of futility.I kind of feel bad for the ohio state football squad, knowing not a single player has ever beaten the Michigan Wolverines.
Now do 3rd base Ryan Day vs Jim Harbaugh during the 5 seasons they actually coached against one another.
