Do you want to know why some meteorologists are literally crying?

An average, sunny day is 29.92 inHg.

Hurricane #milton is currently 905 mb.

To convert millibars (mb) to inches of mercury (inHg), you would divide by approx 33.8639

Thus, 905 millibars is approximately 26.73 inches of mercury. This is significant and BAD. Let me explain why:

Hurricane Michael, which made landfall on October 10, 2018, was 27.14 inches of mercury at its peak (that means Milton is WORSE than Michael)

Hurricane Patricia was the most powerful hurricane on record in terms of pressure coming in at 872 mb or, rather, 25.77 inches of mercury (second to Typhoon Tip, 870 mb).

Milton, again, is 26.73.

Now you understand the real, true devastating concerns here.

This is a very dangerous storm.
And it may very well end up becoming the worst storm in history.
