Huggy's first recruit for 2018

5'10 white kid with only a handful of offers. Is Huggy wanting a drinking buddy or something?

This kid, if he ends up in Morganhole, will have a public intox, fleeing from police, and disorderly conduct charge within 6 months. You guys will end up eating him faster than you did Jason Gwaltney.

Not sure where you came up with this rancid crap fest of a post, but it just shows us all what a stinking pile of shit that you are. There is a reason why most of us have you on ignore. There truly is not one redeeming quality about you turd boy. I am afraid their never will be.

How can that be possible? I doubt anybody has the great YAGs on ignore, but you took it a step further, and state that 'most of us' have him on ignore. Can you prove that? Are you also implying that you yourself have him on ignore, despite the fact that you clearly don't?

Little Bitch does not like having his classless MVU idol call out on his shit. And yes I do have him on ignore. I don't have you on ignore due to the pure entertainment value you bring when you have delusions of grander concerning MVU athletics. In addition I don't need to prove jack shit to you or any other MVU fan.

the ignore button is really a good thing..the air is a lot fresher here in the last few days...just sayin

So, you're stating you have YAGs on ignore, but yet, you quoted a post from YAGs. I'm not saying I don't believe you, but I don't believe you.

Now, back to the topic. The kid has some serious moves with the ball. Reminds me a lot of Jason Williams back in the day. It's a step up in competition, once he enrolls at WVU, so it will be fun for you guys to watch. Perhaps he'll grow a little taller. How is his defensive skills? That as you know is a must to play for Huggins. When you're playing against high school competition with those kind of skills, you simply stand out. I actually had to play against a similar guy back in high school, someone you probably know - Greg White, while he was at Mullens. Dude made everybody look stupid on the floor. Also played against Big Earl, but Greg White was far and away the best player I ever played against.

I'm smart enough to understand how the ignore function works, as well as being smart enough to know when someone is blatantly lying.
Just ignore peach basket boy. His handle speaks volumes as to how incredibly delusional he is. An Old Fold & Blew fan talks sh!t about UNC basketball?

My only regret is that I never got to play against myself to see if my defensive skills matched my offensive skills.

Wow, a blast from the past! I was assured that Mr. Gwaltney would be a multiple Heisman Trophy winner by many on the board. Turns out he couldn't hold Steve Smith's jock and is the poster child as to why recruiting is such a blind crap shoot.

Steve Slaton ... but you're right ... recruiting is a crap shoot. That's why I don't get excited until I see them on the field or the court.

Yes, thank you, Steve Slaton, no disrespect intended. Slaton was flat out fast...we'll never know if Gwaltney was or not!.

Yes, recruiting is a guessing game, especially with someone as young as McCabe. He may flame out when he gets here, and he may do very well at the college level, time will tell. He could be the next Jerry West or a major disappointment ala Jonathan Hargett.......Either way he's going to be fun to watch, even if all we ever see of him is in pre-game warm ups.

One cannot see into a potential recruit's biggest two biggest area of concern...their hearts and their heads!

One thing is certain about McCabe when he gets here.......He will play the game the way Huggs wants him to or he will find himself looking for another place to play. Huggs has proven in the past that he doesn't tolerate anyone whose head and heart isn't into his style of coaching.

Gwaltney was fast too ... he was a good back. He just got hurt after a few games and then stopped going to class and all of that and just fell out of the program. Things happen and these are 18 year old kids, you never know how they are going to react to it when it does.

WVU was dangerous, Slaton and Pat White could take it to the house in a heartbeat!

If Gwaltney would have worked out, we would have had Slaton, White, Schmitt and Gwaltney as backfield options. Gwaltney got all the hype because of the 5star recruiting rating, but I remember in early practices RRod commenting on Slaton. Slaton was a 2star ... Schmitt a no-star ... I think White was a 2star. Just shows how much the recruiting rankings mean.

They mean less than nothing to me...how in the world could anybody watch a HS football game and not determine that Pat White was incredibly fast and elusive, I know he was never a polished passer but WTF!

Just shows how much the recruiting rankings mean.

Patty White had at least six SEC offers, including from Alabama, Auburn, and LSU. It isn't like he was overlooked. Most schools just wanted him as a defensive back. Based on his lack of throwing ability, they can't be blamed for that.

Recruiting rankings mean a lot. I know it is popular to point to the misses and claim that it supports your argument, but it is illogical to do that. Would you rather have an entire signing class of 5* guys or an entire signing class of 2* guys? We know the answer. Why? It is because the 5* players have far better athletic ability. Are there intangibles that influence their success at the next level besides athletic ability? Sure. But you have a far better chance of being a great player in college if you are a 5* kid than a 2* kid.

I always question the acumen of the person assigning the stars. It's an inexact science to say the least.

I can't believe I'm going to agree with you on something ... but I also didn't say that the rankings mean nothing. You're right, by and large if you're getting all the 5* kids you're going to get more hits than misses. However, there are also a lot of 2 and 3 star kids with heart and drive that develop into 5 star talent. Just as there are 5 star kids with no heart or work ethic that end up not panning out. Undrafted free agents are sometimes in the NFL many years after the 1st rounder is gone.

It's not meaningless, but it's not everything.

It's not meaningless, but it's not everything.

Unless you're a military academy or Stanford, if you're a 5*, every school will do whatever it can to cater to your needs and try to get you into the school regardless of any baggage you may have. Why? Because it is worth the risk.

Sure, it's not everything, but it sure is damn close.

During the summer prior to that freshman class Calvin Magee visited the Charleston fan club and he said then that Slaton was the guy to watch there. He was still high on Gwaltney but all of the coaches thought Slaton had a chance to be really good. Had Gwaltney not dumbassed his way to the sidelines and eventually off the team Slaton might have been redshirted. Colson fumbled 3 times in the opener at Syracuse and straight into RR's doghouse.
