I thought last years bracket was very favorable and we ended up in the sweet 16 something that wasn't expected by allot of people. Did you expect to play Boston College caliber teams in the Ncaa Tourney?

ha. we drew a very good maryland in the 2nd round and undefeated kentucky in the sweet 16.

as the top 3 seed, we should have gotten the lowest rated (rpi) 14... not the highest. and the east region is brutally tough

As the top rated 3 seed we should have been able to beat the top rated 14 seed, or the top rated 13 seed, or the top rated 12 seed. Splitting hairs. We stunk it up. End of story. People were also posting we had an EASY path to the elite 8 and you yourself boldly predicted ND would beat SFA by 30.

Maryland was a very favorable match up we lost to an undefeated Kentucky team in the sweet 16 but any team you play at that stage is difficult. Its about going out and executing at this time of the year. This team was never a good shooting team and it cost us. Would you have preferred being a 2 seed and getting Middle Tennessee state. Its survive and advance and the contenders do it every year

i'm moved on from the loss. just saying the committee always makes it hard on huggy. and i'm right. heck in 2010, we should have been a 1. instead, they put us in the john wall region. it worked out. but huggs gets no favors.

Outside of the #1 seeds, every team has a tough road. That's just how the tournament is.

The committee isn't about doing anybody favors. The contenders advance either way. If your as good as your seeding you will prove it

it just hit me. you guys are right. i'm making loser excuses. omg, this is sorta what happened to the dana fanboy crowd. glad i recognized it. thanks.

SFA was no way a 14. Like I wrote before, they were ranked 30/33; ranked higher than probably 20 teams that got better seeds. So some people out there thought SFA was no slouch. It was definitely a bad match-up that produced an ugly game both teams, but one we still should've won.

Committee intentionally put together the turnover teams & Underwood-Huggins. How many coincidences are needed? Then the game was Friday night in primetime on CBS, the very top billing for the entire first round. They had an inkling the upset was coming.

I still maintain we should've been the 2 in Oklahoma City. No guarantees, but that was our earned seeding position. What was that CSU Bakersfield? I wonder how many turnovers they typically cause.

Next time, what it's worth, I don't care to play a team from any league period that's senior laden & has an enormous winning streak. All the Xs, Os, stats, RPIs are insignificant to that.

I also don't hope for any more "homecoming" tournament sites. Felt Brooklyn was more the focus for a few than was SFA.

We would have lost to Holy Cross judging by the way we played Friday night. Some of you guys are huge pussies. We earned the loss because we didn't show up ready to play, and it has nothing to do with the draw. We would be playing a 7 seed with an Elite 8 birth on the line but we shit the bed, plain and simple.

I wonder why? I bet you know.

Damn right. SFA isn't a bad team and were probably a little better than a 14 seed, but there is no excuse for WVU to lose to these guys. No way Buddy Heild can be guarded into an ineffective performance, but not Walkup.. No way you beat Baylor and ISU soundly twice in the regular season, but can't make an uncontested layup. No matter how you slice it, WVU lost to SFA more so because of what it did to itself than SFA winning the game. Some will say sour grapes or bashing, but it's the truth. The regular season may have had some fluke games, but far to many decent wins to say WVU wasn't a pretty good team this year and one that should've beaten a low mid-major.

merely a discussion. long offseason now. no need for hostility. I think everyone is in agreement we should've won and has posted exactly that several times over. WV isn't the only fanbase to bring up seeding either. UK fans texted me complaining about Indiana in 2nd RD after they lost. That with all their McDonald's All-Americans & playing in the SEC in order to get to the Dance. hell, SFA probably didn't like their seed either. I think they addressed that actually.

WV repeat draws with UK are clearly worthy of contention. even Huggs addresses that every selection sunday. fortunately, we did win on of 'em.

SFA I made a mistake and said WVU would win by 15pts, Friday night seemed to be off with WVU from the tip. I am not sure what the answer is here? Point Guard does WVU have a true one? Also WVU needs more bigs than 6"9 on the flool. I thought WVU had players that were 6"11 and and taller on the bench? SFA simply put beat WVU at their own game Friday night. Turnovers were key to WVU winning. Now that I have read the Post Games threads I am shocked at the fact WVU did not come to play, I feel sorry for guys WVU will be favored with Devin Williams coming back and I hope you guys find shooting at some point. Hang in fans it will be football season soon

We would have been in Brooklyn or Providence no matter if we were a 2 or a 3. Top seeds get located near home. Oklahoma would be in Ok City no matter if they were a 2 or a 3.

SFA was under seeded. The entire tournament was badly seeded. The committee did a really bad job. vAndy, Syc and Tulsa - they really focused on the Power Conferences. Several lower conferences got stuck at the bottom.
