comparison going on? Lost track of the Birdsong fan argument. Think we'll be better than fine with Howard under center and a plethora of skill around him with a stud offensive line. Obviously not good enough to deal with you UConn killers though!

Birdsong? Next time you set fire to a couch stand back a bit farther. Birdsong is equivalent to Millard

Sorry Gunny, but I beg to differ. 12 months ago we had gentlemen on here espousing the successfulness of the two young men. Just wondering where their commentary went? Honest question.

Well, whoever that fool was is a dumbass. I'm not saying howard is any good, he's not but birdsong sucks.

Fully agree with your assessment. However, I think you will find, Howard to be more than 'acceptable' this coming season. Looking for huge things from this offense this year. Birdsong? Not so much.

Meh, I'm not sold on Howard. Birdsong will only play in mop duty or if God forbid Litton gets injured

So, you're sold on this Litton kid too? A lot of MU fans I know aren't.

He's better than birdsong is what I'm saying. Is he Pennington or Leftwich? Hell no. But he's a freshman and does have a solid arm. And for the record I liked Cato but if you give me a choice between him, Chad, or Byron he's not in their stratosphere.

Hard to evaluate Birdsong, IMHO! He didn't play great against PU but got the job done. Got hurt against OU and never heard from again until UConn where they essentially used him as a short yardage back which makes sense at 6'5 245. I don't think he has the upside of Chase who should be much improve off of a true Frosh campaign. But glad we have Birdsong as a backup.

Couch, you boys should know good and well how that commentary from fans typically goes. Look no further than your own board. Last I knew, you boys were heavily touting the skills of both William Crest & David Sills, a couple QBs out of Maryland. I thought I saw them both used as wideouts last year, or perhaps used during trickery plays.

Inaccurate thrower but a tough kid is how I sum him up

Both are regulars who are not good enough to start at qb. That is pretty talented.

I'll hold judgement until mid season. I want to see how he does against UofL and Pitt before I say he's the next great QB here.
Is he a redshirt fr?

That is a lot to expect from a redshirt freshman.

I am not sure what Pitt will have next year but Louisville should be pretty good.

No he's a true sophomore. He never redshirted

Rumor is birdsong is transferring out.
Can't believe he'd leave as a Senior....he won't start but he'll have a roll on the team. Kind of liked using his big body on short yardage against UConn. But everybody has a right to be self directed, if he leaves , he leaves!

Why not ? He's not going to play if he transfers somewhere he could play immediately

I posted on the other board if he wanted to play he should join D3 nation. I don't see him playing much anywhere in the FCS ranks this late into spring ball.

Yeah probably

I'm not convinced he won't get playing time, can't see him beating out Chase who is the QB of the future but I think he'll play. Hard guy to really evaluate, just didn't get to see enough of him last season. Nobody would ever tell us weather he was injured or just got fired after the OU debacle, Chuckie wrote an article this Spring telling us he was finally healthy but that can be a dubious source. He's big and strong , no doubts about that but can he throw the ball accurately?

Litton looks good to me . Don't see how birdsong beats him out as litton will only be better as a sophomore

He's the ginger version of EJ Manuel. Big, strong, but can't hit the ocean from the edge of a pier

I saw him in the Purdue game and while he wasn't All American, he'd played OK and led us to a come from behind victory! I guess the OU game is where the " injury" occurred but that was never revealed , just hinted at all last season! I 100% agree he won't beat out Chase , who should be much improved this season and he wasn't bad last year. But I think there is a role for him on this team if he doesn't drag up!
