Coaches sometimes try to hedge and complain saying their teams "have a long way to go" before being ready to compete. I guess lowering the bar makes any success they have seem all the more satisfying? But I honestly like Holgs saying down there in Dallas that he likes the way this team looks and he expects them to play well.

Nothing wrong with being confident. Players pick up on that. He's not making any wild predictions, but he got me a little fired up talking about how good guys like Gibson, Smallwood and Crest figure to be in this Offense. He also said this Defense could be the best he's ever Coached. I really liked hearing that! He also said Gibson is the fastest guy he's ever had, and Smallwood may be his most versatile player ever. EVER? Wow!!!!!

I like the way he's talking up his players, letting them know already they are some bad Dudes. Hope the team feeds on his expectations, and comes in this year with an attitude that "no one is going to beat us". I know the Defense already feels that way--nice to see the Head Coach encouraging the whole team by telling them he feels that way about them too.

Good times ahead!
