Holgs should have recruited Marshall QB Isaiah Green. He’s good and won his bowl game.

I think Marshall redshirt freshmen Isaiah Green is going to have a great career and break passing records there. He had his ups and downs this year but will be much better next year. He has a nice arm and still has 3 more years. Decent mobility as well. Strong QB about 6-2 215 already. He’s an NFL QB once he’s done at Marshall. He will be a monster by his junior and senior year there passing the ball. I’m surprised WVU didn’t go after him in high school. Doc got a good one.

Doc vs Dana. Could Doc do better than Dana at WVU? It’s a shame WVU and Marshall don’t play each other. It’s cool for the state and better than scheduling Youngstown State or FCS. Same with basketball. Work something out. Play 2 in Morgantown and 1 in Huntington. Why not? It’s fun for the state. With Marshall resurgence in basketball the Charleston game would be huge going forward. Why not?

He's not from Fairmont. The guy sucks chunks and probably is a thug according to your previous statements.

Doc will neve be WVU head coach. But if DOC was here WVU would battle KU for last place and probably win it. Might even shatter KU records for most losses and consecutive losses in Big 12.

Green will never see the NFL. Will never get drafted or sign for a free agent. your best friend Cato never made 1 week after being asked to try out for the Browns. If you can't make the Browns means you suck.

Marshall is in the CUSA and if Isaiah Green is all that they would win it. The Kid only completed 56% of his passes. 15 TD 10 Interceptions. 2.6 yard rushing avg./ 128 QB rating. He's horrible QB in CUSA standards.

in his four years on varsity for Langston Hughes with 57 touchdown passes and 30 interceptions. That's 30 ints!

You do this shit for fun to get attention. Guess what it works. Good thing your momma doesn't allow but 3 hours online.

He had his ups and downs this year.

170/305 = 55.7% completion, 15 tds, 10 ints.
And that’s against CUSA and MAC competition.

You’re an idiot.

It’s a shame WVU and Marshall don’t play each other. It’s cool for the state

No, it’s not a shame and no, it’s not cool. I wish Marshall the best but I hope we never play them ever again in football or basketball. Never. It’s not good for the state. Each team having a separate home game generates more revenue in the state than them playing each other and it generates more revenue for each school.

WVU and Marshall doesn't play because they want home and away games not a 2 for 1. Playing Marshall this year would have meant 0-13 in the series. As bad as WVU has shown in basketball they still beat Mini U

Any Marshall “resurgence” in basketball was completely shut down by “easily replaceable” (According to your unfathomably ignorant ass) Carter and Miles in the second round last year.

1. WVU has had trouble with Marshall basketball in the past.
2. Why the obsession with putting Marshall down. I see little for WVU to gain also but come on now...would rather see a in state foe than Youngstown State, Liberty etc.
3. Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Pennylvania, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, Virginia etc all promote the games and not all P5 vs P5.
4, Sounds like "running scared" when WVU fans diss Marshall.
5. It would be good for the state.

1. Last 10 games WVU 10-1 and on 6 game win streak. WVU 34 Marshall 11 over all.

2. I can't stand Marshall and would never cheer for the yuck green, unless they play Pitt or Va. Tech

3. Why would Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Pennylvania, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, Virginia promote the games of WVU vs Marshall?

4. Big difference between running scared and total domination. Seems you are a Herd fan.

5. The game is a money loser. Only thing it's good for is Marshall.

1. Then WVU should never play Oklahoma...or Penn State etc by using your logic.
2. Why, specifically, would you "hate" Marshall? Really? Is this just juvenile speak or did the school do something to you?
3. Come on Allen...read...no one is saying these states should "promote" a WVU vs. Marshall game. The point is: the all have instate games that are regular and not all P5 clashes. WVU fans seem terrified of this concept. Why?
4. See answer one for this one lol.
5. Not really...but you seem to like Liberty, Youngstown State better lol?

Let’s look at all the CUSA schools to see if they have an in-state “rivalry” with a P5 promoted.

Charlotte vs UNC or NC State - nope.
FAU vs UF or FSU or Miami - nope.
FIU vs UF or FSU or Miami - nope.
Louisiana Tech vs LSU - nope.
MTSU vs UT - nope.
North Texas vs Texas, Texas Tech, A&M, Baylor, etc. - nope.
Old Dominion vs UVA or Va Tech - nope.
Rice vs Texas, etc - nope.
Southern Miss vs ?? - nope.
UAB vs Alabama - nope. LOL.
UTEP - nope.
UTSA - nope.
Western Kentucky - nope.

GTFOH!

It is truly funny when folks like you take an answer...read it...and then answer something else entirely. Truly funny. Why is better for WVU to play yearly against the sisters of the poor teams from Virginia or the likes of Youngstown State than against a cross state opponent? Unless folks like you are terrified of a possible Appalachian State moment there really can't be one. So, as you so tastefully phrased...GTFOH.

Because we don’t have to visit those schools. We play HOME GAMES.

I know it’s a difficult concept to grasp.

Name one single in-state “rivalry” between a P5 and a G5. One, just one.

It would not be good for state because more total money if they play separate opponents. And, as Don Nehlen said in an effort to shut them up, that he would love to play them 12 times per season.

Texas will always play Rice.
But Rice was a SWC school.
Texas plays in Houston but at NRG.
They will play 2-4 times every decade.

LSU and Tulane? LMAO!
Ole Miss and Memphis? They are not in the same state. Doh!

Idiot!

Memphis metro is in three states.
TN, AR, MS.

THEN : The storied football rivalry between LSU and Tulane dates all the way back to 1893 and the first season in either program's existence -- which also marked the first intercollegiate game to be played in the state. That inaugural match kicked off an intense and often contentious annual rivalry that saw the two teams play 98 times in the 115 years that followed. In 1939, a trophy of sorts was introduced so the winner could take home more than bragging rights. The "Rag" -- known at LSU as the "Tiger Rag" and at Tulane as the "Victory Rag" -- is a flag divided diagonally, with LSU school colors and emblem on one side and Tulane's colors and emblem on the other. In the center, separating the two, is the state seal of Louisiana. The banner lent its name to the game, which became known as "The Battle for the Rag," marking one of the oldest rivalries in college football.

Very convenient you left off this part, which is exactly like Marshall-WVU in football.

NOW : Money issues and scheduling problems saw LSU and Tulane meet on the gridiron only twice in the 10 years between 1995 and 2005. The two schools temporarily renewed the rivalry in 2006, agreeing to alternate home fields every year for 10 years. Unfortunately, the money issue reared its head again after just four of those planned games, as LSU pushed to shift all remaining matches to Baton Rouge's Tiger Stadium. ("It makes no financial sense for us to ever play Tulane in New Orleans," LSU Athletic Director Joe Alleva said at the time.) The contract was cancelled after the 2009 game, with the two sides promising to play one game, at an unspecified future date, in New Orleans. That game has yet to happen -- and the once-heated rivalry has grown decidedly cooler every year since.

LSU has won the last 18 games they have played each other.

You claimed P5 teams don't have rivalries with G5 schools.
Entirely untrue.
Certain ones like ND/Navy and SMU/TCU are played every year.

Regarding Marshall...
Difference is they are new to FBS.
They don't deserve a home game against WV.
Definitely not a home and home.

We have nothing to gain by playing Marshall...end of story. When we win, it's dismissed as if it means nothing. If we should lose, Marshall fans berate us and our program for decades. Their coaches never had anything positive to say about the game except to whine about anything and everything bad about the way the game was scheduled and played. Add to the fact of playing a home and home which is laughable and costly. I say again why play them. We don't need that grief.

Navy is in the American.

ND and BYU are considered P5 Independents.
Everyone considers ND...BYU by 3 out of 5 conferences.
Don't understand the label but it makes BYU feel like they are on Utah's level.
