I have supported Dana with every ounce in my being but I'm afraid that move will be the final straw for Lyons and WVU.

Boykin is a great player and I totally get telling the kid great job and giving him credit but...

Its all over the national media today, it was on national television, it was degrading to our players and his comments about it afterwards were head scratching also.

I would completely understand if WVU cuts ties with Dana for that little display. It wasn't like that happened in the heat of battle in a great competitive game either. Boykin and TCU were already embarrassing us at that point.

And no other opposing coaches ever gave Pat White a pat on the butt or helmet?
People forget that these are 18-22 year old kids. Good play deserves recognition. I guess most of you are butt hurt too over Dana saying that Coleman is probably the best player in college football? We have some of the craziest fans in the country.

Show me a clip where another coach did that to Pat White. I'll wait for your evidence....

If Boykin's team had been down by 30, it would be seen as good sportsmanship. Our team down by 30 it looks like he is paying attention to the wrong things. Third and short bombs and the refusal to even give one late game series to a backup QB and the unending string of penalties are the hardest for me to understand.

LOL - good sportsmanship - nothing here.

There is a time and place for it. It's called the post-game handshake at midfield. You see coaches and players seeming to say "nice" things to each other all the time. You see players helping each other up and slapping each other for a good play. However, I don't recall ever seeing a head coach do this to a player during the game when he is embarrassing the team.

I'm on my mobile but there are many. I specifically remember Randy Edsall and Skip Holtz both doing it.

Yeah, well excuse me for not believing it until I see it. I've watched every game. Some on TV, some in the stadiums. If it were one of the games I watched on TV, I never saw what you describe. Sorry.

Good lord, some of ya'll must not have a thing to worry about in life if this bothers you in anyway.
or....some of us have many layers when it comes to our lives.....when I come on this site it is about WVU football and watching our HC high five the opposing QB during the game and after a play our defenders flopped all over the field trying to stop him was disrespectful

I can't believe that anyone cares about this.

If it was common and not a big deal it wouldn't be getting attention nationally......

On the front page of CNN there's a story about Steve Ballmer and Mark Cuban being on Kiss Cam. You're right, it's a big deal. If DH loses his job, that will probably be why.
The home team always hosts the opposing AD/President when they come to town....which is the equivalent to 2 NBA owners being friendly. It's hardly the same as the coach high fiving the opposing player who is abusing his team in the heat of the game.

if you can read lips you'll see Dana said, "God Damn! I've never seen anything like that!"

It was a Major Harris sized moment. Boykin or however it's slelled is just good.

If you want to complain about WVU offense, defense, special teams, etc, then Fine. This is just showing real respect, and it was/is deserved.

Btw if you want to complain about Holgorsen's language, that's even understandable, but slapping 5 and showing respect to probably the best player in the country, it's bein real and genuine.

No dog in the fight here.. However, I think Stoops would have walked right past Boykin and went straight to his defenders, screaming with neck veins popping out, about their lack of ability to tackle..
