When Holgs was first hired, did you ever think there would come a day when the Ears marquee victory would be over a Sagarin ranked #65 Georgia Southern Sunbelt team? I don't know if they've ever even seen the top 25?

I mean, you're incapable of being a big boy and answering this without saying something about Marshall, but I can see why.

There's really nothing you can say about it. Instead, you desperately hope that saying something about Marshall and our opponents (which have absolutely NOTHING to do with this) will somehow deflect yourself from the having to respond with something a grown up would say.

Under Holgs, you guys have gone from this...

Breaking out the obscenity as well as the homoerotic/homophobic ranting. Not even worth my time to read...

The typical "no comment" response.

Figures. Pussy.

Also from the guy that claims that dole can't respond in an adult-like manner ...

But, if you want an actual answer ... First, Holgs does have that win, and has also had 1st and 2nd rounders in the last couple/few drafts. Second, we beat top 5 Baylor just last year. Third, the season is only half over, so to call that our signature win, or the best win we'll have all year is a bit of a stretch.

Do you really want to have adult conversations about football or do you just want to do the namecalling ... because if that's all you're going to do then I'll just make use of the ignore button.

(still haven't called you any names at all ... see how that's done?)

Nice Moral Victories you're claiming.

Since the Orange Bowl with Stew's players Holgs has buried your program.

I know it, you know it, and dildo knows it.

What moral victory have I claimed ... we didn't play top 5 close and lose, we won.

Do you know what a moral victory is? You should, you guys are all about that.

And ... "dildo" again? Just can't do it can you?

Beating a top 5 team yet finishing with a mediocre bowl and getting your ass kicked in said mediocre bowl is proof your win over Baylor was nothing more than a fluke.

Since that win did nothing for you in terms of winning your conference or even finishing the season ranked, it was nothing but a Moral Victory. You may as well be bragging about how much you scored in the games you lost.

You apparently are in Moral Victory Denial.

Why do these mooU comedians even care about the Flagship University in WV, the Mountaineers? I can't wait to hear the excuses...it will be gold!!

You are trying way too hard, Little Detroit. You really need to get some help, before you hurt someone else, or yourself...

Bumping, in case anyone needs a good laugh...

To be considered a moral victory you have to actually lose the contest. We didn't lose, we won.

A moral victory would be something like being a heavy underdog but then barely losing. Or, losing while playing fairly against a team that was cheating.

The whole premise behind the term "moral victory" is that you lost but still gained something.

When you win, the qualifier "moral" is dropped ... it's just called a victory.

Here endeth the lesson.

Obviously you've never heard the expression, "you won the battle, but not the war."

That's exactly what happened. The win in that particular game did nothing for you, besides mislead people into thinking you may have been worth a shit in football.

What you lost was the overall benefit there for the taking. Would you rather have lost that specific game yet won the conference championship and made an access bowl? Of course you would. But that's not what happened by a mile and so you had to find some little positive from the season to latch on to, the upset. Therefore, you are claiming a Moral Victory.

Did you read that book after every time WVU beat Marshall's asses?

I've heard it. And it has no relevance to this conversation.
Clearly you don't recognize when you've lost both.
Being in a IAA-quality conference, playing IAA-quality competition every week, in front of less than 22k fans per week, while losing to teams ranked 70-100, and receiving millions in welfare per year, is CLEARLY winning the war...

So, by your estimation, 127 teams had nothing but moral victories last year?
Or is it only the 123 that didn't win P5 conference championships?

What the hell are you even taking about? Hey look, if you're satisfied with the occasional upset over a ranked team that's fine with me. Obviously the Ears definition of success has had to change dramatically under the auspices of Coach Dude.

Does it make sense now?
"Would you rather have lost that specific game yet won the conference championship and made an access bowl? Of course you would. Would you rather have lost that specific game yet won the conference championship and made an access bowl? Of course you would."

I think every team in the country would have sacrificed one win and instead win the conference and make an access bowl ... But there are 124 teams that didn't make an access bowl, so did they all have nothing but moral victories by your definition? After all, they may have won their conferences, but they didn't make the 4 team playoff, so it was nothing but moral victories.

Let's take that thought a step forward ... the 3 teams that did make the access bowls but didn't win the championship, did they all have nothing but moral victories by your definition? After all, they won a lot of games but they didn't win a championship.

I suppose we can say that all of the G5 teams play for nothing but moral victories since they will never make the 4 team playoff.

Or does your definition only apply to WVU because you can't stand that we beat ranked teams?

No need to answer, we all know.

And one last time ... I only stated that we beat Top 5 Baylor. That is not a moral victory. When you have more points than the other team the "moral" qualifier is dropped and it's just called a victory. Did I say that our entire season was a success because of that? No, I didn't. It's got to be horrible for you when facts seem like such contentious things.

Being lectured by Marshall fans about the definition of success. Laughable. Go deliver your pizzas fool, people are hungry.

Wow, Little Detroit really is dumb, isn't he? Why continually post a "moral victory" sign, when you have no idea of what the phrase means? Idiot...

There's stupid and there's ignorant. I've explained what a moral victory is and given multiple examples, so at this point "ignorant" is off the table. Or maybe it isn't being stupid, but just deliberately obtuse because recognizing the facts as they are means he has no legitimate point to make. It's probably that.
