Hertzel goes classless again

all the proof we need will be in the replacement hire. if it's not a guy familiar with recruiting florida, dana is out of florida

Proof: Dana just hired a guy with great recruiting ties to FL

So it says, once again, you're as full of shit as you are a drunk

Nothing compared to the fans that are actually tweeting at Joe about losing his job. Nothing says class like making fun of a man for losing his job.

Fans need to chill our and move on. He's not that bad of a coach. At times I think he was in a situation where he had a very small chance of succeeding. Hell Keith Patterson didn't do any better. But seriously people show some class and just say hey thanks for what you did and good luck in your future.

There is no reason to get out of Florida. Why? There's tons of athletes and a lot of speed in Florida. We have a history of bringing in Florida players. If it's only a couple it will pay off. Especially with Cogdell heading back down to Florida to coach.

Guy coaches a secondary that ranks 2nd in the nation in take aways...... Despite losing an All American before October

Guy coaches the league's best punter and a top 3 kicker (when healthy)........

Loses his job...

Our STs will now go back to Stewart-era
I don't disagree with a lot of what you say but you're going to give him credit for our kickers kicking the ball well? That's 85-90% on the kicker...not the coach. He's also the coach that called for that terrible pooch kick right before half of the Cactus Bowl which led to points...and coached the kickoff team that had no answer for their returns during that game.

I always thought he was about average/mediocre as a spec. teams coach, but you can't make the case you just made man...c'mon.

Am I going to give the Special Teams coach credit for the kicker he recruited.....and coached......for kicking well?

Yes.

Agreed. Regardless of how you feel about these coaches, a man losing his job should not be a joke or ever taken lightly.

Still waiting for a source for that Dana quote

lol. now you want a source. how about you look for it? test your internet skills

From WV Illustrated:

And in reference to Holgorsen's abandonment of recruiting the state of Texas, providing more of a focus on the east coast, he offered a telling assessment of how his opinion has changed on football in this portion of the country, which, in turn, has led to a greater effort to attract east coast prospects to play in a mainly Midwestern conference.

“My background was the Southwest – it was Texas and the Southwest,” Holgorsen clarified. “Oliver [Luck] thought it was a good idea. Because of the conference that we were in and because of the kids that we were recruiting, we could get some guys like Jordan Thompson out of Katy High School, which is a national power, Garrett Hope out of The Woodlands, which is a national power, Noble [Nwachukwu] out of Wylie High School, which is a regional power, and Dustin Garrison out of Pearland, which is a national power.”

“Those guys brought something to our team that I didn't feel like existed at that point – just a ton of structure and hard working guys that were undersized and that weren't recruited by a lot of those Texas schools. So, I thought it served its purpose. Going to the Big 12, it's just our philosophy that we can recruit a better kid more regionally in the Northeast, up and down the east coast, and in Florida. We can sell the Big 12 brand and recruit against almost everybody, and get a better kid that we could do in Texas right now," he explained.

Holgorsen's translation is that he will stress the importance of regional recruiting (Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, Maryland, Georgia, Florida), over the importance of Texas-based recruiting. It makes sense. A school like West Virginia in the Big 12 Conference provides a unique opportunity for east coast prospects to play in a Midwestern league.

Those doing that are also some of the ones without jobs. Or very low paying jobs.

My advice would be to spend less time on Twitter, more time looking for a job and improving their prospects for employment including learning new job skills.
