West Virginia wide receiver Michael Harley (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas) said he's shut down his recruitment, as first-reported by 247Sports.

Harley was slated to officially visit Miami January 13 and Florida January 27.

He will now only officially visit West Virginia January 20.

Pops must have got the "Money Bag" from Seider and Holgerson

There is a reason why Miami and Florida have slow played him all along. Don't be shocked he still takes his visits

Weeeee ewww weeee ewww weee eww

D Bag alert going off!

Word on the street is that Harley wasn't going to qualify academically at Miami and UF just came to the party too late. Looks like the reason Miami waited until October/November to offer was because his grades needed work. Miami was feeling better about his grades partway through this semester, but turns out they were mislead. He didn't get the grades he needed so Miami pulled his offer.

Just glad there are schools like WVU and Marshall out there that will accept kids like this because he certainly deserves a shot in life.

This is The "U" we are talking about, not Stanford. With your program being perhaps the most corrupt in the history of the sport, spare us the academic smack.

Wow. I wasn't going to hit the board until later, but apparently the overwhelming butt-hurt of this post compelled me to hit the MMB early....and it didn't disappoint.

Teams will tend to "pull offers" when they are told to piss off. Funny how that works.

I was being facetious.
don't be! The kids read this forum and, with reading, might well develop the feeling that there is not the respect for them and decisions that they desire and anticipate. Idle words might work as a serious detriment to our recruiting. Just a thought.

Top 50 academic institution in the country. Miami is elite academically and we just have higher standards.
Have you ever hired, worked with, or spent a lot of time around numerous graduates of Miami? I HAVE done all three and can tell you I am not overwhelmed by their level of academic prowess. Graduates of WVU get an education equal in all respects and may actually enter the world even better prepared to handle the assignments than others from more ' highly publicized' institutions. (Have first hand experience and knowledge in this arena.) So, please, stop the rhetoric beaded on some Joe Blow Hole's criteria as to what contributes to high ranking of Universities. The proof of quality is in the performance of the graduates and wVU is NOT second rate, especially to a school like Miami.

Maybe pops can come see you at Foot Locker and share some of his money bag to help your January sales swoon?

I'd give you Post of the Day but skippy beat you to it. It was close though.

In the end, with recruiting you win some and lose some. Miami was a big deal and now they're not. I'm sorry it took until now for you and skippy to get the memo.

So it seems Harley wouldnt qualify to attend Florida schools and was declined admission to Miami, That is why Miami and Florida slow played him and recruited other WRs ahead of him.

I guess WVU is now the Marshall of the P5. "You cant qualify to attend a school in your home state, come to WVU"

Hate to tell you Bozo but U of Miami uses the same qualifications process for student athletes as WVU, NCAA Eligibility Center (clearing house). If you can't get by them you can't qualify anywhere. Oh... except Marshall.

Actually no, You have to get into the school which has higher standards than the NCAA. You can thank Donna Moneybags for that. Its a reason why Miami doesnt kill it in SoFla year after year. Its a reason why the SEC and Louisville has improved greatly over the last 16 years

Can we get a rematch with Miami? Finally have a quarterback now. With Will Grier, WVU would have been up 21-0 in 1st quarter with all of that great field position. Totally different game.
