Hard to believe no one knows when Holton should be back

I was hopeful WVU would have him back for this game but not getting my hopes up. I'm still not worried but if he isn't back for the next game then I'm going to start to worry.:grimace:

If the young man did something that warrants him being put off the team.............then it seems that his failure mode should be released. On the other hand............what he did ain't none of my business. Warez

is a clandestine mystery. no mention in the press conference. the talked about 3 games was just talk. let's hope 4 doesn't turn into 5, 6 or 7, or continue to live up to the indefinite billing like this.

I love how Adrian has stepped up, but he & Dev couldn't do it all tonight in the front court. Holton's absence was HUGE. I don't see them outrebounding us like that with Holton. & I know Holton would've cleaned up many of those misses in transition & in the half-court offense. that doesn't include what he brings to the press. we took 18 more shots than they did & still lost by 10. that doesn't happen often.

if, a big if I know, we could've escaped the phog with an improbable win - which actually at times was not out of reach entirely - we go to 9-2 in command of the league, KU falls to 7-4. a big swing, but we're still tied for 1st and have great opportunities ahead.

we have no bad resume losses. that said, TCU Nooner Saturday is critical to the standings & keeping the resume without a stand-out blemish. they played us tough in their gym & tough last year in Morgantown. gotta avoid a slip up, with or without Holton.

I agree. Losing to TCU would be severe damage, with Texas and Oklahoma next in line. Team needs to regroup and reenergize and cook some Horned Frogs!

but i guess it is what it is
I'm not sure I've ever heard of a situation like Holton's. The lack of information concerning a player getting suspended with no end in sight astounds me. Is it drugs, attitude, grades, whatever, or a combination of all???? I'm trying to figure out why people started saying 3 games when I don't believe Huggins or any representative of the AD ever said that. It was always indefinitely as far as I heard and now looking more and more like it might be permanently. I thought Holton might have finally got his shit together, but apparently not.

The AD has to know a return date or at minimum a date where a final decision is to be made by.

I'll state the obvious....replace "WVU" with "Kentucky" and you would never see this kind of nonsense.

this whole thing is at least a reminder to never believe what you read on a message board. anyone that pretends to know is pretty much an asshat. lol.

The irony in this whole thing .... at least to me, since I was critical of signing Holton .... is that just when Holton really seems to hit his stride as a player and you (I) buy into the idea that he actually gets it, he apparently is still the unstable goofball you (I) thought he was from the beginning.

Can anybody say Aaric Murray?

Hopefully Holton can return and be a productive member of this team.
But I ain't gonna hold my breath.

It is a mystery, and one that with privacy laws may never be revealed.

One thing that would be a relatively simple explanation for why the "insiders" were all wrong about it being "3 games" is that it appears the actual rule is a 2nd positive requires a suspension of 10% of the season. As the absolute minimum number of games WVU could play is 32 (1st round B12 tourney loss and no invite to anything), 3 games is not quite 10% of the season. Perhaps when a team plays a number of games not divisible by 10, the suspension must exceed 10%.

In terms of "passing a test. Marijuana is fat soluble not water soluble and detectable for a longer period of time than other recreational drugs on the screen. But, I would not think "passing" after an initial positive would mean a "negative" result. It doesn't for LE purposes. The initial positive test sets a benchmark. The following tests administered soon afterward don't have to be clean for marijuana but they do have to show the levels have dropped by an amount consistent with no use after the initial positive.

Exactly, Buck. There's a lack of information. The exact cause is unknown thus the timetable for return is unknown. Which sucks because of where we are as a team & what could be achieved.

I hope he comes back soon. Would be super odd to just sit out the backend of the regular season for a completely secret reason then show up again out of the blue. Plus you'd hate to have his time & memory at WVU end, tarnished like that.

Am no fortune teller, but given the fact that there's nothing police or arrest-related that the papers would've found, my assumption is it isn't that egregious of an offense.

Here's a copy of the University's drug screening policy for athletes. Most of our questions are answered in it.

There are 31 season games and add post season games of conference tourney and NCAA tourney. 35 would round down to 3 suspended; 36 games would round up to 4 suspended; 45 would round down to 4 suspended; 46 would round up to 5 games suspended.

How many games can they potentially play going to championship? That would be max for suspension unless one of the board members opts for added days.

By policy, it looks like he will satisfy suspension time after 4 games. Hope he has not already screwed up again which would mean career suspension for 3rd offense.

He needs a wizzinator
Way back when I was a young man I thought about selling freeze dried clean urine, I was going to call it 'Urine Luck" . Just add water. Another great idea I didn't follow through with.
