They would still be in the Big XII championship game. Letting that one get away is the biggest blot on this season. None of that is to say that Gibson and defense aren't down right putrid. Nor is it to say that Spavital is utter crap that needs to be fired. It is to say that in that game both sides made some plays and both sides gave up plays. However the offense had the more exploitable opposition and it's not unreasonable to expect them to score enough to protect a 17 point lead.

The OSU game is the one that is just ridiculous. We simply lost focus at halftime and came out and blew the game. How do you beat Baylor and TCU as badly as we did and then lose to a team that Baylor and TCU defeated? There is simply no excuse for that 2nd half collapse. None.

It’s was like the defense gave up and expected Grier and the boys to score every possession for us to win. We need a completely new mindset next year and a DC who can actually preach it.

Things change every season based on what class the talent is.

Meaning WV had a lot of talented seniors but...
WV at the end of the day had the fifth best roster in the Big XII.

Oklahoma St lost to Baylor and TCU but both schools have better talent.

Oklahoma St talent is a little less than WV but not by that much.

Problem for WV is that they play six teams a year with about the same amount of talent or more.

Can't expect to go 6-0 against those teams even when your talent is older.

You don't have to know it all to know you need better players when you don't win...

It is actually playing big time college football.
Why do you think recruiting has turned into a major business?
