Paige is a beast really hoping he continues to improve. Gotta love a win on the road shooting under 20% from 3 and not having a usual day turning people over and getting points off turnovers. Most impressive victory so far IMO.

Depth and coaching won the game today. Williams was off so put Macon in. Macon gets in trouble and put a fresh Williams back in. Lots of guys in foul trouble, no problem. I loved this game mostly because of the jobs the coaches did. KSU's Weber prepared his team well, and Huggins adjusted his team just enough to win the game........and I hate the way the refs are calling fouls this year. Lots of bad calls both ways. Basketball is a rough sport, let 'em play and let "em defend.

I'll take a road win in the B12 any day and all day. But I'm not going to pretend that our half-court offense didn't look like crap when the game was on the line.

You just have to assume it will get better ... right?

Give it up for Jaysean Paige ... the dude essentially single-handedly kept us in the game.

Our basketball team plays a rougher game than our football team and that totally reflects the coach of each team.

No insults...it's just what it is.

That is also the kind of win that will make a huge difference in March

The anti-WVU "fans" trashed this team throughout the game thread here and I thought we were getting beat.... and beat badly. So... we won baby! Now you can go home and pout.

Great win on the road not playing their best ball. It's good to see they overcame the refs and playing on the road to get the W.

What the **** is wrong with you? Are people not allowed to post negatives when we are playing badly? I don't mind it. It's not like they are wishing WVU would lose. We played like crap for most of this game. That's a fact. Our best player was scoreless in the 1st half and was either injured or didn't have the "will" to fight today and that's why Huggs didn't play him much. Huggins also had a great mixture of rotating players and that definitely was key in this win.

One last thing on Huggins, and why I respect this man, when Miles got the "T" for hanging on the rim, he yanked him out of the game immediately. Now, that's been done before by other coaches. But, look at the situation. We were up 1 point, in the final minute of regulation, and Huggs pulls one of his best 2-3 players. Discipline.....that's what makes someone better and how someone learns.

Not sure what game you watched, but I didn't think the refs were out to get us. We just played poorly on defense. A lot of reaching and grabbing. I thought it was fairly well officiated.

FWIW, KSU's strength is their half court D, at least based on what the announcers were saying early on.

It was a great win and despite some poor play on the road is still in the W column. That being said, Carter and Williams being shut down by a young group of less than stellar athletes is concerning. When more experienced and lengthy teams (Kansas, Baylor) pop up on the schedule, those two guys cannot go MIA again. A consistent shooter or two would go a LONG way for this team as the half-court offense still looks like improvised street ball at times.

Carter is understandable. He's playing out of position. He's a SG, not a PG. You can see where at times he looks to be struggling with decisions to pass or shoot or penetrate. I don't think it's the offense or anything like that, I just think he's trying to be a team player but in turn he's "thinking" too much out there instead of being the super-athletic player he is.

As for Williams.....love that guy....but was disappointed today. Hopefully it comes out that he had an injury, because if not.....well.....it looked like he just stopped competing out there. If he was injured, hopefully it's not a lingering one (Williams did come in late in the game and OT, so maybe a good sign). We cannot make a run without him. Glad Macon stepped up big in his place.

Those of us, perhaps more experienced, are more likely to watch a game and post the positives they see with the expectation that a positive will result in the end. Others are more willing to critique and trash the play of our players and coaching as some sort of "right" in being a quasi Mountaineer. So mush negativity on this board. I don't get it.

ksu will not win many more games this year imo. but great win is right. 1/2 the team was still celebrating new years at tip. we still won... with our backups... on the road.. in tough venue.

Hey, just like we did in football.....with backups.....on the road.....ohhhh......crap......that was K-State that did that.......never mind. [thumbsup]

Any road win in the Big 12 is a good win. It doesn't have to be pretty. In the conference standings, we are 1 - 0. Let's enjoy it and let's go mountaineers!!

Nice to see we have some seious depth, that can not only give us minutes but actually carry us to victory on the road. Very encouraging.
