I sure hope HOFCBS can continue his program's winning ways in Morgantown. WVU has stared the season strong and Mountaineer Field is always a tough place for visiting teams to win. K-State's defense has performed well, even in Palo Alto, against a quality Stanford Cardinal team. K-State's offense struggled against the Cardinal, but appears to have used the time and preparation against inferior opponents to improve. We shall see. The Big 12-4+2 is up-for-grabs and our game could have major implications in how the season goes.

Secondly, I sure hope our conference leadership gets it right in regards to conference expansion. Personally, I believe the most significant issues are:
1. Add a university that "fits" (whatever that really means, I suppose $$)
2. Add at least one university, if not two, to improve the media/television footprint in the eastern half of the United States.
3. Provide WVU a regional "rival". It must suck for WVU to be on an island conference geography-wise.

Obviously, I do not know any details, but IMO the Big XII leadership failed when universities such as Louisville, Pitt, and Rutgers were not brought into the Big XII. Maybe those universities already had plans in-place to join the Big 10 and ACC. It appeared those conference moves occurred after the Big XII failed to offer conference membership.

Now it appears Cincinnati is the only logical choice in the region.
UConn? I don't know. Doesn't seem like a good fit.
BYU? No no no, please no.
Houston? No, please no more former SWC-Texas schools, sorry UH, SMU, Rice.
Memphis? meh.
Tulane? seriously? Well, N'orlins would provide a fun road-trip.
UCF/USF? The only reason would be for Florida recruiting, but I don't think that is valid.
Air Force/Colorado State? Is the state of Colorado that important? Other than being in the same region as Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas? To be honest, I don't think losing Colorado to the Pac was that big of a deal. Losing aTm, Nebraska and Missouri were much more significant.

I am a K-State grad in Albuquerque, NM. For selfish reasons I wish UNM was a potential choice for expansion. It would be awesome to see my 'Cats annually in Albuquerque. UNM has good basketball and olympic sports. The addition to a Power 5 conference could help them as it did for Baylor and TCU. The Lobos would probably have a significant financial impact just from all the Texans who would road-trip to Albuquerque for games. The state of NM is already over-run with Texans for summer and winter vacations to the mountains. Unfortunately for me, no chance.

Have a great week! I will be watching our game from my couch or favorite sports bar on Saturday.
EMAW! PGRTR!
