The New York Post wanted to see what Geno Smith looked like after surgery on his broken jaw, so it found him outside his apartment tossing a football with a friend and took some photos.

Smith had his jaw broken by linebacker IK Enemkpali in a locker room fight this past week, which became a huge story around the NFL. Enemkpali was cut, and picked up by the Buffalo Bills. Smith will miss 6-10 weeks.

The Post reported that Smith's jaw looked swollen, but was not wired shut.

He was tossing the ball two days after surgery when the Post took the photos and asked him for some comments.

“I feel great. You see me throwin’, right?” Smith told the Post.

The Post said Smith's speech was "slightly slurred" by the swelling. The Post said surgeons implanted metal plates and screws during surgery. Smith wouldn't comment on the incident with Enemkpali and politely told a reporter, after a follow-up question, that he had been nice to her but she was on private property and he didn't "want to call the cops on you."

So now we know what Smith looks like after surgery and what he is doing as he recovers (eye black to throw the ball outside?), and we'll see how long it takes before he is throwing on a field and not the pavement outside his apartment.
