AN EXCERPT:

As the stresses of recruiting began, West received advice from his father and coach, former WVU standout Jarrod West.
"He just has told me to enjoy it and embrace it. He told me to not get frustrated, because, I'll be honest, I have been a little frustrated going through the process," West said. "He said he didn't get his first real offer until late in his high school career. He tells me to just be thankful for all of my opportunities and for the people who have helped me to get here."
At 5-foot-10, West averaged 19 points, six rebounds, six assists and four steals this past season for the Irish.

Dave Hickman: Top junior-college scorer joins Mountaineers

AN EXCERPT:

Whether Myers is the final piece of this year's recruiting class remains to be seen. When he committed in March, it was for the last remaining available scholarship for next season. But earlier this week, another became available when BillyDee Williams announced his intent to transfer.

Marshall Weber: Big 12 baseball power rankings

AN EXCERPT:

5. West Virginia (21-12, 4-5)[/B]

The Mountaineers would best benefit from +.500 conference record. But if the season ended today, it'd be hard to see them left out of the Tournament.
On a good note[/I]: [/B]Led by Kyle Davis, West Virginia hits the ball really well and currently lead the Big 12 in team batting.

Dennis Dodd: Big 12 could hold title game as early as 2016

AN EXCERPT:

The move would directly impact the Big 12 and ACC, which developed the legislation. The Big 12, which is the only Power Five league without a championship game, is merely seeking the option of staging such a contest with 10 teams. The ACC's ultimate intentions with a 14-team league in football, one which already holds a championship game, are not clear.

Heather Dinich: Condoleezza Rice opposes expanding playoff field

AN EXCERPT:

"I feel pretty strongly about four now because I thought that the rivalry weekend -- that Saturday after Thanksgiving -- almost felt like a play-in game," said Rice, a professor and former provost at Stanford. "Now the Iron Bowl, Alabama has to beat Auburn. You could imagine the circumstances in another year where the Civil War, Oregon really has to beat Oregon State. There are questions whether they will. ...

"I agree that if it got much larger, I don't think you would have that momentum coming out of the regular season, so it's the best possible scenario."

Andre Adelson: Swofford says ACC won't go to three divisions

(Translation: It's sure to happen.)

AN EXCERPT:

Swofford said the support is based primarily on principle, so don't expect much to change in the ACC -- at least for now.
"I think the fact that we were supporting this in principle and felt it was the right route to go, it gives people the impression that we have a specific direction we would take things in in our league that's different than what we're currently doing," Swofford said. "That's just not the case."

ESPN

John Antonik: Crook developing depth on offensive line

AN EXCERPT:

There is a considerable amount of tinkering going on right now, especially at left tackle. We've seen Yodny Cajuste out there as well.

Cajuste is a young player with impressive size and athleticism who immediately gets your attention. Having a left tackle with good feet and a large wingspan in this league is a necessity and Cajuste appears to have that covered. With him on one side and two-year starter Marquis Lucas at the other tackle spot, the Mountaineers have a pretty athletic duo at tackle.

"You're always looking for that," said Crook. "The more athletic guys you can get the better off you're going to be, but in the end they've got to have toughness, too, so it's not just athleticism."

Dammit to hell!!!!

This is exactly what I've posted about happening...... the purpose and function of the damn College Football Playoff Committee is to select the BEST TEAMS to participate in the PLAYOFF, not to determine or influence what goes on during the regular season.

These type of statements simply just demonstrate, yet again, that we cannot get by the preferences, opinions and influences any human selection process is subjected to.

Re: WVU future schedules

I don't see us having much success in any odd numbered year the way that schedule is set up. I know you can't really plan from year to year but you could argue that we play the best four programs in the conference (at least until Texas returns to power) all on the road in odd numbered years

Re: WVU future schedules

I wish Maryland was more than just 2020 & 2021. That series is fun, especially if you live in the eastern panhandle.

The other schedules look good & tough. Got to have depth & good qb play for those schedules..
