Anybody know what time tomorrow's championship game is to be played? They normally show those on CBS, so was wanting to try to watch it.
Glenville beat Fairmont in a 2 out of 3 series for the right to go to the NAIA national tournament in 1971. Fairmont had a guy named Butch Haswell who could shoot the lights out but they couldn't handle the mighty Pioneers....every time JoJo (as we called him) got up to whine (he did that a lot) we'd scream bitch jojo bitch...those were the days:cool2:[cheers]imp:Disregard, I finally found it online. 3'oclock CBS.
I recall the great Fairmont teams back in the day, led by the legendary Joe Retton. I always thought he was the best coach in the state, regardless of division.

My God, Buzzard: Just how old are you? Were you alive when the light bulb was invented?
I graduated in December 72...Id like to see the new facilitiesWhen I lived in Glenville I could see their gym from my house. I never missed a GSC game until I left there in 72. I could say the same for GSC football, whose stadium was a 10 minute walk from my house. Oh how we hated Fairmont State in both sports and how we hated Joe Retton ! Funny thing is I ended up attending Fairmont State but always pulled for GSC whenever the two met. Still do.
GSC has moved their athletic facilities to Mineral Road out where the old college farm and Forestry School were. State of the art facilities for a small college.
