each significant suspensions, I'd say.
Durante...a shame. Ineligible for Cactus Bowl. Suspended for spring ball. Showed a lot of promise early. Lot of off field work to be done for him.
Thomas-Williams to this point is a bust. Maybe the others can step up in the effort to replace Wendell. Time will only tell.

We've seen spring ball and summer camp stars go on to do nothing in the actual games. But you still don't want guys suspended & not practicing at all.
It's hard to gauge it early on as in projecting high school or even JUCO results to the high major level. All about performing in the Big 12. Maybe the passing game can be big like the bowl game & they can outscore some teams similar to that.

Sorry but if DTW was the answer he would have already been contributing. It's hilarious to see people try and act like WVU didn't sign one of the best RB prospects in the nation. The writing was on the wall for 2 of those players and his name is Justin Crawford. And honestly is a kicker missing spring practice a make or break situation for WVU? Can't he still practice kicking? And now Durante is a huge blow lol yes WVU will try and replace his 378 yards and 5 TDs. It won't be much different than his being there for Big12 conference play. If only WVU had depth and talent at WR. I honestly think Durante could be a All Time Great Mountaineer but talent and upside isn't everything. Remember this is the same kid who didn't bother being eligible for WVU's bowl game.
Do we see another 7-5 or potential 6-6 season in the making? I want to be soooo wrong on this one and see us get past the 7-5 wall. But, I am getting a bad feeling about this based on tidbits we are being given on the status of the FB program at the present moment
Reading the spring reviews of the other Big 12 teams would make you more optimistic. The majority of teams in the conference seem to be weaker on paper. The teams that could be better are K state not due to talent, Texas which always has allot of talent its just can they translate it in to wins and possibly Texas tech but they have their fair share of issues. Oklahoma will be the hands down favorite to win the conference but the battle for 2nd is wide open and with the nucleus that Wvu has back on offense combined with the favorable home schedule there is no reason why the team can't compete for a top 3 spot this year in the conference
When your position coach tells you (and the press) that WVU recruited a 4-star JUCO RB because YOU weren't improving................... the writing is on the wall.
Is Durante suspended for academics---- as was the case for the Cactus Bowl? Wasn't Kevin Williams suspended for the same thing (Cactus Bowl) but appears to be practicing this spring. Anyone know the difference... if it is academics for Durante?
