Morning news is reporting that the person for whom the military base is named had something to do with the issue of slavery thus his name must be removed from the base. My understanding is the new name will be Fort Liberal and our future trainees will become proficient in Pillow Fighting.....

Almost every road, fort, school, etc. named after Confederate politicians, officers, etc. are being renamed. Washington and Lee University was on the renaming block, until humongously gigantic donors said kiss our money goodbye forever. The Board that governs them voted no to renaming

This isn’t news. Pickett in Va became Ft Barfoot. Hood became something else, Bragg, etc.

I don’t even disagree with the name changes. This should end all claims of racism and discrimination in the military going forward. No more excuses.

Lol...Congratulations to PFC Roland Bragg's family?

BREAKING: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has signed a new memorandum renaming Fort Liberty in North Carolina to Fort Roland L. Bragg. Hegseth signed the memo shortly before landing in Stuttgart, Germany aboard a U.S. Air Force C-17. The name Fort Bragg is coming back, but with a twist. It will not be named after the former Confederate general. Instead, the new name pays tribute to Pfc. Roland L. Bragg, a World War II hero who earned the Silver Star and Purple Heart for his exceptional courage during the Battle of the Bulge.
