I hate to lose but that is why we play the game... What really got me was why we didn't leave Clay or Welman in the backfield to block Striker. He was constantly in the backfield untouched.
Honestly, I would have put Crest in and let him run the zone read(at least until they changed up their defense. OU's ends overcommitted on every play.

I agree, you make adjustments with pass blocking,Striker needed doubled

I agree to a point. But it would take them about 3 plays to adjust to Crest's read option if we had no passing game to keep them honest, and I think the passing game is where Crest is struggling.

I noticed you only have 5 posts right after a WVU loss. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're just a random newbie.

Wellman whiffed on several occasions. Clay didn't break off of his route on several occasions when he saw Striker flying right by him on the corner blitz. Cajuste just got burned by Striker's speed a couple of times. These things will be addressed by the coaching staff, I'm sure.
The over committing by their ends and corners is what got Howard that nice 50 yard TD run. We ran the ball pretty well against them. I'm sure that factored into Dana's decision to leave Howard on the field. But, no matter how well you run the ball against a team, you have to mix it up occasionally.

Not all all. I used to belong to the blue lot for several years but I got tired of people who always try to act like they know every thing. I post what I saw.

Wellman was left in backfield at times to help out but was lined up on the right side of Sky. OU was getting by the left side of the line so fast that Wellman didn't have enough time to get over there!!!

By the way Country, why do you need to check how many post someone has? This board is for everyone new or not. Maybe you should've said, I see you only have five post, welcome... Your mentality is one of the reasons why I left the blue lot in the first place.

I thought we would have Striker handled for that game. It was common sense. If it's a run play then error on running AT HIM, which is how you attack a speed rusher.

If the play is a pass then have the fullback shadow Striker the way teams will have a LB shadow a running QB.

Every so often, change it up so that the FB doesn't shadow Striker on a pass play to keep them honest.
