-West Virginia entered the off-season with 84 scholarship players. The senior class was 20 members, before the dismissal of guard Russell Haughton-James so remove all of those leaving you 64.
-Junior cornerback Daryl Worley declared for the 2016 NFL Draft. Leaving you 63.
-Junior wide receiver Vernon Davis, Jr. and redshirt freshman wide receiver Lamar Parker left the team. Leaving you 61.
-Redshirt freshman defensive end Tyree Owens and freshman cornerback Tyrek Cole were dismissed from the team. Leaving you 59.
-Freshman Jacquez Adams did not qualify in August leaving you 58 scholarships.
-Redshirt freshmen safety DaeJuan Funderburk was dismissed from the team after the Cactus Bowl leaving 57.
-Junior running back Wendell Smallwood declared for the 2016 NFL Draft leaving West Virginia with a total of 56 scholarships.
Add the nine mid-year enrollees and now West Virginia has 65 scholarship players in the program.
That means before anymore departures or players put on scholarship West Virginia has a total of 20 open spots in this class.
