My Fiver on WVU's victory over TCU last night in the Coliseum...

1. If we get this version of Joseph Yesufu (14 points, 6 rebounds, 0 TO in 27 minutes/4-8 from "3"), and we get normal output from Amani Hansberry and Jevon Small, we're going to make the Tournament, and we're going to make someone uncomfortable in that first round matchup...maybe even in the Round of 32.

2. Love the energy that Sincere Harris brings - and as much as it pains me to say it, we're going to need him to score. Teams are going to give him plenty of room, and I love the aggression he showed on offense last night getting to the rim. In his 13-point output he was 5-8 from the field, and aside from one mid-range jumper he hit, the other 7 shots were taking it to the tin. He also drew several fouls, going 3-4 from the stripe. He adds 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks and only 1 TO in 33 minutes. That's the guy we want on the floor each night from here on out.

3. Bottom line with Jon Powell and KJ Tenner is that Powell has hit the freshman wall, and Tenner hit that wall a while back and is working himself back. Anything we can get from these two moving forward is bonus. Tenner gets after it on defense, and I like his tenacity he's showing. Powell with 1 shot attempt in 27 game minutes on a night when Javon Small was commanding two defenders at all times 🤬

4. Iowa lost by 20 last night. From the Hawkeyewire.com: "Given the struggles over the past two seasons, Iowa head men's basketball coach Fran McCaffery's job status has come into question. ESPN included Iowa among a group of college basketball programs where the job could open. ESPN's Jeff Borzello included Iowa alongside Arizona State, Georgia, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas, UCF and Villanova."

Boy, that is a great deal of open big time basketball coaching job this offseason. Draw your own conclusions there.

5. 17-11, 8-9 in Big 12. Before last night's game, WVU was listed as one of the last four to get a "bye" in the Big Dance according to Lunardi. Bracketmatrix has us as a high 10-seed: http://www.bracketmatrix.com/. The 11-seeds looking up at us are Oklahoma, VCU, Texas, Arkansas, Wake Forest and miraculously Indiana. We hate those teams now. We have three games left. We go 2-1, we are "in", solidly, without any help needed in the Big 12 Tournament. And the path is clear: at BYU is an "L", then sweep at Utah and vs. UCF. I feel like the outcomes of the BYU and UCF games are clear. And, because God has a sense of humor, our biggest one left and our NCAA bid run through Josh Eilert.
