I think this game will hinge on the O-line and the running game. So far, WVU has controlled the entirety of game flow, but that is unlikely to be the case on the road against a team of OU's caliber. In the last two years when WVU has to rely on big pass plays and consistently converting 3rd and long, the time of possession favors the opponent. Defense is good this year, but OU is a far better offense than what the Mountaineers have faced so far and the less time they have to be on the field the better I like their chances.

The defense will equally need to step up against the Sooner run game. Mayfield has talent, and unless WVU has hidden away some special pass rush scheme, I haven't seen enough to think that WVU will be able to consistently pressure the QB when passing. If WVU can't stop Perine with just the D-line and linebackers, then potentially the coverage team could be compromised in the setting of a QB that had plenty of time to progress through his reads.

Overall, I like our chances. However, its a road game against a team that is far better than any of the first 3 opponents. WVU hasn't been punched in the mouth or faced adversity yet, so that combined with a hostile crowd and some youngsters at key positions, will make it interesting to see if they keep disciplined versus being swept away by ebb and flow of the game.

How Oklahoma's firehouse offense does against WVU's Octopus Defense is the key thing to look for.
Oklahoma's defense problems are what WVU does best, stretching the field with speedsters getting behind defenders and cutting across the middle for open passes. Oklahoma's weakness matches WVU's strength in that situation.
If our secondary can intercept 2 or 3 passes, then WVU will win. Skyler and Company just have to have a good day, not a fantastic day, if the WVU defense does its job again.
