Fauci tells Americans not to see their kids for Christmas

I agree. Not seeing mine which is same as Thanksgiving. If Americans want to be part of the solution, they would listen and adhere.

Dying in a car accident? How is that related to anything Dr. Fauci is recommending as it pertains to what is best for the country?

My love for my family and their love back to me is unshakable and everlasting. Sacrificing a visit during the holidays for the best of the country and our localities is a small sacrifice considering what is at stake. Can't do much about a hypothetical tragedy such as a car accident but at least we can sleep well at night that we have done the right thing and not become a spreader of a deadly virus and accidently making another person sick. That is what a good person would call having good values. You scum won't understand.

Take the proper precautions all the time and when visiting and there shouldn’t be a problem. Life is short and you never know when somethings going to happen.

I don't disagree with this perspective. Very well stated and well intention.

The point is nobody is guaranteed another breath on this earth so put the most important things first. I question your unshakable and everlasting love for each other if you are going to let a virus with a 99.98% recovery rate keep you apart when you could have been together.

Question what you wish. I have had more than my share of tragedies and losing loved ones in accidents throughout my life. I also know the fact that my family has always tried to do the right thing. Our faith helps us get through tragedies and we don't live life scared as you appear you do. I know I will see my loved ones after this one holiday season and hopefully it will be soon in 2021. If a tragedy does happen, then I feel good that I will see my loved ones in the afterlife. But it is also a good feeling I have lived my life the right way.

btw-quit repeating the same tired lie of the false calculation of what you call the recovery rate. It is a lie.

I'm betting all the old folks locked up in nursing homes who know life is coming to an end no matter what takes them out would love to see & here there grandbabies laughing & giggling. I know my grandmother said she might as well be dead if she cant see her family. What's the good in living if you cant enjoy life .
I'd rather die living than live dying.

If I were scared, I wouldn't be going to see my family, which is not the case. In fact, we won't be wearing masks and we won't be social distancing. That is what is called "love conquering all." Now, how do you know you're going to see your loved ones in the afterlife?

The recovery rate is actually a lot higher than 99.8% (or whatever number you want to use) because most people who die of other causes while having Covid are still counted as deaths due to Covid. Also, the recovery rate is compounded even more by the fact that nearly one third to half of people with Covid show no symptoms which indicates they aren't going to see the need to be tested and aren't part of the true data set.

You’ve freely given up almost a year of your life. I’ve enjoyed mine.

I have not. You lie
If you’ve curtailed your life, not seen your family and loved ones, stopped fellowship with your parish, cancelled vacations, you’ve compromised a year of your life, for nothing. It’s fine with me, do what you will, but for me, that was an unacceptable solution. I know all too well how quickly life can end. Once we got past the early April/May period of ignorance and determined this wasn’t Ebola, I wasn’t about to spend another day worrying about it. There’s no need to for my age group.

You did not described my year at all. Again, you are a filthy liar attempting to project a thought as reality of someone's life. You are a disgrace and a despicable liar. But that is known and this is just another episode of what you and your type do.

I nailed your year because you’ve acknowledge all of those things on the board in various posts. You said even in this thread you were staying apart from family during the holidays. You’ve compromised a year of your life out of fear.

Hopefully, his wife isn't staying away from family members

Again, a lie. Find any of that. Only thing you might find as I don't remember if I have posted what I have done about church. It is true that my church has not yet opened and I have not attended a service since March. Everything else is a complete lie. I have visited my children, I have been on 3 vacactions throughout the country, I have visited my children and all but one has visited us (he is married with 4 kids 6 and under so they are a little busy and not visiting during the year is not unusual), I have visited my father in WV twice, I have done my one main hobby being golfing on a regular basis. I have had a good year considering the pandemic has wrecked this country and the economy. So, again you are a complete liar and you can not prove any of your accusations.

F'ing pure scum and a disgrace.

Why hasn't your f'king church opened? Ours has, limited attendance but it's open

From what I understand, the Bishop of Atlanta has allowed the Rector of each parish to make a decision on how they want to move forward as long as they meet certain guidelines. Around mid-October they put out a survey on whether or not to start holding outdoor services on Sunday morning in addition to the Zoom service. I never heard how the survey came out but the fact is they are not holding in-person services yet.

Catholic? All churches are open here in Roanoke

Then you’ve clearly lied in the past. You’re either lying now or were when you were busy virtue signaling and condemning state Governors for opening their states. Cant be both.

And, I'm getting a shitload of grief from certain people I am close to (WVUBud) about signing up for the Myrtle Beach World Am Q-School in mid March with the full intention of going, whether I am vaccinated or not. My life has been fine and I am fine with individuals making decisions and executing those decisions in as safe of manner as possible, just like rog expressed earlier in this thread. But that doesn't mean Fauci's recommendation about Christmas is wrong. The surge in Thanksgiving travel has led to the surge in cases, hospitalizations and deaths. If we are ever going to get on top of this pandemic, certain sacrifices are needed. One is do not get in an airplane and travel across the country for Christmas. There is simply too much risk involved at this time.

No, you are a complete liar. That is a certainty. Scum and always will be. Now go eat shit.

Getting on a plane is probably a little risky but the only thing I would agree with is locking down nursing homes.

Episcopal and all Diocese's whether is Catholic or Episcopal are different. Expand your perspective.
All I was saying is, all churches are open here, with limited attendance. Why hasn't your church opened with limited attendance? You think it's safer in Walmart, Kroger, Publix, Home depot around a lot of people or in a church not moving around and observing social spacing?

I answered you. I don't know for certain but I guess it is due to the survey asking the congregation what they wanted.

I didn't see the last part. I've been trying to shoot my age last two years. Just can't get to it. Last week end shot back to back 68's. Par is 71. The supers have been setting the pins hard and the greens are fast but pure. Saturday I had 7 birdies but 4 bogies.

And I just checked the church website as I don't read the emails and have not attended the zoom service the past two weeks as I have been living my life and haven't been around on Sunday mornings. It appears they are having limited in person services now. One has to make a reservation to attend an outdoor service. Not sure if my wife knows or not as we haven't discussed it but I do stand corrected saying my church hasn't started. As I said, I have been out of the loop on this and really, who cares about my church?

But for the scum who constantly lies, I will guess we will probably attend Christmas Eve services in person.

Getting on a plane is fine. Good lord. I’ve got a trip planned to Mexico in a little over a month.
