Fan Information for Gold-Blue Spring Football Game

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – (April 12, 2016) - As part of a day-long schedule of WVU events held at The Greenbrier on Saturday, April 23, West Virginia University football will play its annual Gold-Blue Spring Game at The Greenbrier Sports Performance Center, at noon.

All fans are encouraged to arrive early to alleviate congestion, not only with parking but advancing through the gates and finding their seats. Everyone is encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance online at greenbrier.com/wvu and bring their printed receipt with them to the gate.

The gates open at 10 a.m., and tickets are available for $10 each with the net proceeds going to the WVU Medicine Children’s.

Parking is on a first-come, first-serve basis. For your convenience, parking at Lot U is encouraged - Downtown White Sulphur Springs. Limited shuttle service will be available from Lot V - Hart’s Run. ADA parking will be located at The Greenbrier Sports Performance Center.

Check www.greenbrier.com/wvu for map/directions on how to get to the lots listed below:

• Lot U - Downtown White Sulphur Springs, fans will walk to the Sports Performance Center.

• Lot V - Hart’s Run, limited shuttle service available.

The Gold-Blue Game, slated to begin at approximately 12:05 p.m., will conclude WVU's spring football drills. The defense will make up the blue team, while the offense, who will be wearing white jerseys, will comprise the gold squad.

Fans are reminded that umbrellas are not permitted. Other prohibited items are video cameras, radios, TVs, signs or banners, beverages or coolers, firearms or weapons of any nature, no bags larger than a purse (6”x6”) including camera carrying case, backpacks, packages and other carrying items.

Food and beverage items will be available for purchase at the site.

Once again this year, there will not be an autograph session following the game, and fans will not be permitted on the field. Mountaineer football will conduct its annual Fan Day in August with details being released later this summer.

Same format as before, first team against first team. This is nothing more than a final scrimmage session so I believe I'll pass. I was hoping they would choose up sides or at least have the first string go against the second string. When it came to Spring games, Coach Nehlen really put on a show.

Signs..... Signs.............everywhere there's signs. Do this. Don't do that. Can't you read the signs.............I mean...............rules. I ain't going since it appears impossible to get in there with my dadgum blunt! Well, it is rolled up in newspaper and is a dead giveaway.

I was really hoping to see Howard and Shell on one team with Chugunov and McKoy as the opposition. Coach can't afford to see how that might turn out I guess. What if his 'boy' was outplayed? It would only start a controversy and competition. Nobody wants that!
