I think the joke of the movie clip is that everyone knows you play until the whistle blows and excessive blocking is something that is never, ever called. It wasn't unnecessary roughness, the other guy was fighting back. It's amazing they even made the call, especially in light of it being a critical game in the 4th quarter.
Not when the league stood to gain a LOT more if OU won and played Texas. Just saying.....
