b12 has to consider the effect of how they ask officials to shape the games in conference

Paper..didn't you endlessly advertise how great our conference (team) would perform..... ....?

That, and shoot better, play better defense, rebound better, and do some other things better as well.

I liked our team a lot. We were not ready to match Sfa physicality though. Had we gotten past sfa we likely would have made the elite 8. I always said Unc will win it all.

The Big12 sucks and the league members proved it over and over and over and over and over and over and finally over again with the 7 teams that represented Big12 pride.

Good gravy.

Villanova was always charmin soft by old big east standards. And look what they've done to the b12. A jay wright coached team punking the b12 says it all.

Man do you sound dumb. Just sign off and move onto next year.

Paper.................you are joking about WV not being ready for SFA.............right? That would be like saying Mike Tyson is not ready to take on Donald Trump in a boxing match. WV played as physical as the rule of the game allows and then some! The opposition lived at the foul line and you know it!

The Big 12 on most years is an average basketball conference. The big 12 getting 2 teams to the elite 8 and 1 to the final four is a respectable showing .The old Big East that we played in was far superior to this conference. This years wvu team would not have been competing for a Big east Tournament title or regular season title. we would have made the tourney probably somewhere between a 7-10 seed if we played in the old conference and would have been better prepared for tourney play

Blaming Big 12 refs for the way games are officiated and blaming the tourney selection committee is grasping at straws when trying to explain Wvu and big 12 shortcomings in the Ncaa tourney

You stood up and called our team a "sure" final four team

Take your medicine

Lol. All you do is lie and misquote obscure basketball Twitter experts on here.

Once the selections were made, I said our run would end with unc. You can look it up. Ha, I'm sure you already have.

Nope. Soft play has everything to do with b12 officiating. And sfa was a very tough 14.

But it's time for y'all to let the sfa game go. Don't you think.

I'm only in it for West Virginia, but in the conf comparisons, the B1G, Pac & SEC didn't do all that much in the Big Dance. This field was all about the ACC/original Big East.

BXII had 3 Sweet 16, 2 Elite 8, 1 Final Four. That's not too bad even with today's result. Villanova had the league's number. Oh well.

Can count me in among those still not over the SFA nightmare.

Your not making foolish excuses for the SFA loss like blaming the referees of the big 12 for the way they officiate games or Blaming the selection committee

Yeh me too but the sting is fading. My problem is with the clowns that are still suggesting one game is a referendum on Huggins.

to be fair I was one pointing out that SFA should've been higher than a 14. also felt WVU deserved the final 2 seed ahead of OU considering the standings, record and after WV edged OU in Kansas City.

we should've won still, sure, but it was a bad draw clearly. SFA also proved it by going to the wire vs Notre Dame. & then Underwood got the Ok State job. They were legit.

You really want Keaton's clown shoes title don't you

I suspect nothing posted here is as simple as you need it to be

Couldn't take that title from you I just look at the scoreboard at the end of the game but Im sure you'll find away to blame the operator.

PS. Do us all a favor predict that will suck so the fans will have hope next season considering every prediction you make the opposite happens

& yeah man, one clunker L doesn't invalidate 26 Ws prior. unfair to judge it that way. the resume was outstanding this year. probably best in school history.

since going to Press Virginia, the record is 51-19. Eleven wins over top 25. Won 2 November tourneys. 12 true road wins. Contended for the league title back-to-back seasons. One BXII tournament championship appearance. Pair of NCAA selections & of course one Sweet 16.

only disappointment was seeing both seasons end when the team just flat out couldn't score. 39 vs UK. 56 vs SFA when averaging 80.

big picture considered, I'll take it.

Making shots is more important than physicality or referees. Villanova was lights out and OKU couldn't throw it in the ocean. I don't care how good your defense is, if the offense your guarding is scoring the ball you're going to lose if you can't match them on offense. Mental toughness in the face of adversity is maybe more important. OKU couldn't keep it close and in the end lost their composure and mentally fell apart, just like WVU did.

OU was not the final 2 seed - they were above Villanova since OU was the home team last night. (You never know the order of the seeding until two teams match up in the final four with the same seed. Home team is determined with the higher ranking in the seeding process.)

Maybe it would've resulted the same, but "Final" 2 seed or not, WV should've been a 2 and Oklahoma a 3.

You are correct in Villanova was the final 2. They were paired with no. 1 overall Kansas.

To OU comparison, WV had the better record on Selection Sunday. Finished higher in league standings and went farther in the league tournament. Had the most recent occurring head to head win over OU on a somewhat neutral floor.

My opinion...SFA should've been around a 11 or 12 seed. I think they proved that. 20 game win streak. 30th in AP poll with a 14 point win over No. 8. That's not a 14 seed. Last two tourneys they were similar & got 12 seeds I think.

Oh well. Dust settles and Villanova and UNC are clearly the best anyway.

Same here, it was a serious Hindenburg performance that I won't be over until and unless next year's team does something significant in the NCAA tournament.

It badly damaged what Huggins accomplished over the last 2 seasons. No excuse for a black eye of that magnitude when you have so few chances at the prize as our school does.
