Events Set for Gold & Blue Weekend in Beckley


MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (October 18, 2016) – Plenty of activities for WVU and WVU Tech fans have been scheduled for the Gold & Blue Weekend in Beckley on Oct. 28-29, centered around the WVU-WVU Tech exhibition basketball game.


On Friday, Oct. 28 from 5:30-6 p.m., there will be a pep rally inside the King Coal Beckley Automall Arena, featuring cheerleaders from both teams, the WVU Dance Team and both mascots. At 6 p.m., fans are invited to attend WVU Tech’s open practice at the King Coal Beckley Automall Arena. At 7:30 p.m., the Mountaineers will take the court for an open practice with a joint autograph session with WVU Tech to follow.


On Saturday, Oct. 29, there will be a free family fun zone and street fair from 1 to 3 p.m. at Word Park on Neville St. in Beckley. The WVU-WVU Tech basketball game will tip at 6 p.m. on Oct. 29. Tickets are $25 and available for purchase at Little General Stores in Raleigh, Fayette, Mercer and Wyoming counties as well as online at WVUGAME.com or by phone at 1-800-WVU GAME.
