Even the linemen .....

Would it be against some rule of which I am unaware for the coach to explain the game situation to the QB and tell him, look they are going to stack the box because time is running out and they want us to pass, so no matter what don't pass.

Its just one of those age old arguments that it was bad because it didn't work but had he hit somebody for a TD it would have been a great play.

Or we run it three straight times and actually get stuffed people would be screaming why didn't we throw one pass!

Save the nit picking for when we lose no reason to try and make a win worse than it was.

It's not nit-picking to link an article in which Wendell Smallwood says that he was caught off guard by the passes and then reports that other players were essentially saying, "What?"

The argument is not that it was bad because it didn't work. The argument is that we have struggled mightily in the passing game, the running game was working great, and why would we pass when we were running so well.

The TV guys were questioning as it happened.
A lot of fans were questioning it as it happened.
And now we know that a number of players were questioning it as it happened.
People were questioning it before we even knew if a pass would be complete or incomplete.

You're the one who is nit-picking.

WHOMEVER elected to throw those balls it was the wrong decision IMO...
However I'm wondering why Wendell or any linemen for that matter would decide to add fuel to this fire?
They win or lose as a TEAM...driving wedges in where they don't belong does nobody any good...
I'm happy for the W as are the players I imagine....time for them to look forward...Texas could be quite the battle. ...

I don't see it as "wedge" driving. Just post-game talk and analysis.

But I guess Skyler doesn't make those reads unless Holgs has given him the green light to do so. So I suppose it isn't all on him. And Holgs did defend it when after the game he said that we still needed to work on those routes.

Texas worries me. We'll have to execute that intermediate passing game, imo, to beat them.

You mean linemen that have recently been shuffled...because of poor performance?
