MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (January 2, 2018)– The West Virginia University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has received confirmation from the NCAA that basketball forward Esa Ahmad will be eligible for competition starting with WVU’s game at Texas Tech on Jan. 13.

Ahmad has not been eligible for game competition in the first half of the 2017-18 regular season for not meeting NCAA eligibility requirements but has been able to practice with the team.

Ahmad, a junior from Cleveland, played in 34 games in 2016-17, averaging 11.3 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.
