Eleven Events Televised Through IMG
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (September 28, 2015) – Eleven upcoming West Virginia University athletic events will be televised on ROOT SPORTS and West Virginia Media Holdings stations through WVU’s partnership with IMG.
Six WVU men’s basketball contests will be televised locally, starting with the season opener against Northern Kentucky on Nov. 13, which will be televised statewide on West Virginia Media Holdings stations. ROOT SPORTS will televise the James Madison (Nov. 16), Stetson (Nov. 20) and Bethune-Cookman (Nov. 23) contests. WVU’s games against Kennesaw State (Dec. 5) and UL Monroe (Dec. 13) will be televised by either ROOT SPORTS or West Virginia Media Holdings.
For the second year in a row, four WVU women’s basketball Big 12 contests will be televised locally. The Kansas (Jan. 16), TCU (Feb. 24) and Oklahoma State (Feb. 27) games will be on ROOT SPORTS, while the Kansas State (Feb. 6) game will be on West Virginia Media Holdings stations.
Again this year, the WVU women’s soccer team will have a match televised on ROOT SPORTS. The Mountaineers’ final home regular-season match against Iowa State on Sunday, Oct. 18 at 1 p.m. will air live on ROOT SPORTS.
“We are excited to be able to broadcast 11 additional WVU sporting events this season through our multimedia rights partnership with IMG,” said Matt Wells, WVU’s Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs. “The much-appreciated support of West Virginia Media Holdings and ROOT SPORTS allows us to bring more live games into the homes of Mountaineer fans across the state and region.”
